    I've just received my shiny new Pegasos and was disappointed to note that MorhpOS does not recognise or play music CD's as standard? Is there any utility (CDDA etc) or equivalent available for morphOS?

    Golem you are wrong Kaya supports only MP3 and OGG.
    If you want to play CDDA try CDPlayer.

    it's not because audio CDs doesn't pop up on ambient screen that it is not recognized. With the previously mentionned softwares you should be able to play them, even if you don't see an icon on your ambient desktop. Make sure that your CD player is connected to your soundcard with the internal audio cable. MorphOS don't play Audio CDs on digital mode.

    If you have your cd drive configured (device/unit) in the CD list in preferences it should work. There's a separate button for adding cdda tracks to your playlist, kaya will retrieve track info from freedb if you're online.

    @ThePlayer

    See above, your signature says you run 1.4.5, so you should have the current version of kaya.

    Check out Songplayer, Robin provided the url already. It plays most formats and is a good alternative to the brilliant AmiNetRadio.

    Also you shouldn't miss Ripper to rip your CDs to hd (cdda, mp3 and ogg). Ripper supports internet database, too. Very useful tool.

    I downloaded CDPlayer and set up the device name and unit ID. It works fine with music CD's. I set up the device name and unit i.d. in Kaya (v1.5.1) but the CD drive is not listed in Volumes when attempting to load a track to play. Also Kaya states that it supports OGG and MP3 files only? Surely some kind of general CDDA device/utility is required for the system as a whole to recognise music cd's? :-?

    I will download SongPlayer and ANR next and give them a try next.

    About Kaya: After defining device and unit number in the prefs, you can add cd tracks by clicking the second "+" at the bottom of the playlist (main screen).
