finally a usful thread with old spirit... missed that in last days/weeks :-)

Yes, I have my peg2 also exclusively for MorphOS. Tested Linux, but it sucked compared to MorphOS.

    [edit, forgot setup]

    Peg2/G4 1Ghz
    512MB RAM
    Radeon9000 (64MB)
    1x 120 GB HD (Samsung)
    1x 160 GB HD (Samsung)
    1x DVD ROM (LG)
    1x 52x24x52 CD/RW (LG)
Logitech keyboard (my good old Cherry one i destroyed a few days ago :-\ )
    Cherry Mouse (800dpi, optical)
Saitek P880 Dual Analog Joypad (USB)

    + other stuff

I also have a Peg1 in storage, but no money for buying case, keyboard, mous and gfx card for it, else I would use it for MorphOS too. :-\

    regards,
    tokai

ok you all have bought peg for mos. but you should have tought maybe morphos could not last forever. You already know that behind mos there was a group of small developers and a small company and that sales were very low (since amiga market is so tiny). if you count that only 2000 peg were sold approx. is rather impossible to develop a new os starting from zero, and also not opensource but paying a group of developers. maybe you think money grow on trees but it's not like this.

You already know all of this and that a risk was inside following this road. You spent 300-400 euros, how much genesi spent on this project. And you expect they continue to lose money just because 2000 people in the world want mos. The developers already did a great job and so genesi/bplan in producing the mobos. Think about that and thanks for these two things....

The alternate way would be to put mos as opensource project but since pegasos hw is not widely available you'll find problems to get developers in (in thousand like linux)

If there's no money the only way to get amigaos back is AROS...

    ehm....... OS4?
Sorry not here to start flamewar but OS4 is impressive and better everyday. Aros is not the only left solution. For sure i hope MOS users can have MOS, the OS they chosed.

wow! you just got out the two books with trev inside.

...maybe not the best 2 volumes of foundation (which I love). I like foundation story a lot and also the end of the eternity, do you know it? it's linked also to foundation story!

and also italian, or better italian and hungarian a bit!

For A1 for sure :-) For Peg it is a good idea :-) Will Genesi buy the licence? Probably if they spend money, they will use them to pay MOS developers and not for OS4 licence.

Why some MOS users are so frustrated? :-P
I never see such thing on AW.net, only when it was needed. Actually i can see a lot of "hot" post from some mos users and no lock or ban. Respect website rules and you will be ok on Aw.net

I bought both my Pegs (Peg 1 April 2 and Peg 2) to run MorphOS. I don't have any desire to run Linux or any other OS and don't see the added value in doing that on a Pegasos as opposed to one of the mainstream X86 Linux distributions.

Why no one set up a poll?
Do you think anyone will count all the (related) posts to figure out
the number of users who bought pegs to run MorphOS? I don't ;)

Of course i bought my PegasosI (April II) to run MorphOS, too.
I'm very happy with it and also with MorphOS 1.4.2/3.
Of course i wouldn't reject updates to MorphOS but i can live for a
while with 1.4.2 as well. The long wait for the 1.5 update made me not
    upgrading to PegasosII yet.

I guess some more PegasosI owner would go PegasosII if there wouldn't
be the current mess and the uncertain future (as of now).

So, MorphOS can still drive the sales a little bit i think.

    Regards

Sigh... I'm sick of hearing this childish pish. I have both a Pegasos and an AmigaOne and I frequent this site and AW.net.

Hate to break it to you but there are approximately the same number of arseholes on both sites. :-P

It actually is possible to use MOS without thinking AOS is evil/buggy/pish, etc.
    And vice versa.

Too many people on this site and aw.net have their heads firmly up their arses.
