I played around with QNX briefly back in my Amithlon/AmigaXL days. QNX was an interesting OS- didn't care for AmigaXL so I ended up running Amithlon for a couple of years.

I'd like to see QNX as an OS option on Peggy.

As of today Genesi is a QNX Partner and the Pegasos is enrolled in the official QNX BSP. We will be announcing more details next week.

man, before dreaming of flying with a qng powered Peg-ship to the moon
start with some Pegasos exercise at home. if you wanna fly high you
    have to try hard!
Just to remind you: Vesalia sells whole pegII G3 systems for 639 EUR.
It's really a bargain (I once gave nearly that ammount of money for a
Peg1 mobo alone and it was worth every single cent).

...as for the Pegasos I? We will still provide for the upgrade program. We just need to be a little farther down the road. Then we will get everyone on the same sheet of music so to speak...;-)

Soundsquare, now you have disclosed Genesis secret business plan!
The Peg with MOS was thought for usage within all those slot maschines. A secret Genesi only cheat should have been introduced by Laire to the Quark kernel which should have lead directly to $$$.

    :-P :-P :-P

    Me too ...
I'd like to known, whether it is just a cross-environment or a full self hosting OS, just like the 630 demo-CD.

Send us an email if you are interested in beta testing the image. We are focused on the EFIKA port currently.

Honestly I don't think that I'm well suited for beta testing. I'd better wait till Release.

The first time I heard of QNX was at the time when there were plans to build newer AmigaOS versions on top of an QNX kernel. The features I heard of impressed me.
Well unfortunately this never became reality.

Sadly I never had the chance to try this OS out myself.

    A short trip into QNX:

Qnx offers a free evaluation CD to test on x86's.

The Os ist very small, and very responsive .. because it it's a realtime OS.
The api is posix, quite compatible with linux, so porting is easy...
Onboard documentation for programmer's point of view is very good ...

    Caveeats:
    * It's not focused on the graphical Interface. Good software is hard to find. ( Either the ports are "quick'n dirty" or the proggy doesn't exist at all.

    * It's heavyly comercialised. Licenses are quite expensive. There's no strong "open spirit".... As realtime-linux evolves, I wonder, if Qnx can survive this way on the long term ...
