Not as scary as it seems, just continuing the history of both companies - as you know, Commodore's founder Jack Tramiel bought Atari 1984 to compete with his former company, and several C= people, including the developer of the C64, followed him.
Unfortunately the philosophy of Irving Gould, who was the reason for Tramiel's leaving, led to Commodore's bankruptcy.
Anyway, back then, both - Gould's Commodore and Tramiel's Atari - wanted to get the Amiga. Therefore it would be a nice continuation or better a nice restart of history if now both, Commodore and Atari, would get the chance to again compete with each other by using the Amiga successors AmigaOne/AmigaOS4 and Pegasos/MorphOS.
I've to admit I'd really like such a partial comeback of the good, old 80s with amiga-like home computers and Commodore vs. Atari.
