    Hello all....

I ftp'd Microdot II for MOS and starting the app complains of old or
    missing mui parts.

What's the fix for this one?

    Thanks again.

Why not use simplemail or YAM? Both are free and are so much better.

Indeed, am using it on my Pegasos more or less since day one. Which MUI classes exactly claims it to be missing?

According to SnoopDOS, the following classes are in use by MD2:

    Textinput.mcc
    SpeedButton.mcc
    NList.mcc
    SpeedBar.mcc
    CManager.mcc
    Listtree.mcc
    NListview.mcc

Except for CManager.mcc, all of them are included in the MorphOS CD. And CManager.mcc seems to be included within the MD2 v1.4.4 archive.

Acill, that seems to be a matter of taste - for me at least neither the one nor the other was even remotely able to make me leave MD2.

I used already the original Microdot (coming from Spot and a little bit using of Foozle) and am very glad I can still use MD2 (and Voyager) on the Pegasos.

According to the startup, Microdot II complains that it can't open
cmanager.library and says cmanager class is not installed in mui.

Probably you should install thoose missing MUI parts from Aminet, into SYS:Classes/MUI... If the error message of Microdot doesn't specific which MUI classes it misses, you can use the SnoopDos utility (from Aminet) to figure out which MCC-s it searches for and fails to find.

I just discovered the reason for your problem: the MD2 1.4.17 archive does just contain the main programme, but not the CManager stuff.

So you have to get the main archive first from Vapor, install it and then copy over the new microdot 1.4.17 executeable from the archive you've downloaded first.

In case there might be still problems related to CManager, you can find that stuff also at Vapor.

@Acill, until SimpleMail has email threading and YAM gets an overhaul to it's user interface, they cannot even hold a candle to MD-2.

@topic: CManager.mcc (the missing bit) should be contained in one of the full install MD2 archives on the Vapor site. The installer is designed for an older setup, so you may want to move the files around by hand.

Yeah, I got that archive from Vapor before and it didn't have the
cmanager stuff in it. I don't recall seeing it anywhere on the ftp
    but will look again.

    Thanks.

Cmanager.mcc is in the archive, however, MDII still complains it can't
    find the cmanager.library and that cmanager.mcc isn't installed. I've
gone through the installation and all seems well. Still scratching my
    head on this one.

As someone else did write already in this thread, you've to copy the CManager.mcc to SYS:Classes/MUI.

The CManager.library should be included in one of the CManager archives over there in the corresponding drawer at Vapor. Just copy the CManager.library to SYS:Libs then.

Great, will give THAT a try and see what's up. According to snoopdos,
there are a few other things that are failing, but that's a start.

    Thanks.

    Senex,

That did it. MD2 runs like a champ. Snoopdos still reports some
things failing, but I can't find anything not working with the mail
    portion of the program anyway.

    Thanks again.
