Such program would require hell of CPU time and memory and I don't think it exists (correct me if I'm wrong).

Well, I didn't try it yet, but if you have a video/s-video output on your gfx card (I do), you could, for instance, record it to a VHS tape. Try lower screen resolutions like 800 x 600 and lower, as I don't think other resolutions are supported for regular video output (if it's enabled).

    Let us know!

Yes i have made such a program,
i called it PIP. It's beta, and
    it's a WarpOS executable.
    The stability isn't perfect.

It can record realtime for hours,
and has a own priority option, so
that other progs keep running. It
uses ffmpeg to finaly create the
    video file. NO SOUND!

I never got to release the beta.
If your realy interested, i will
    put it on my site.

    Bye,

You're right, we have a few programs in beta for
a while now, we suppose to release them at some
point, but things got in the way.

I've uploaded a beta of PIP here:

    http://www.attention-software.com/PIP.lha

A few words about this release, it's possible
to grab in two modes, realtime and into memory,
wich means direct to HD or to Memory, please
only use realtime (direct to hd) mode.

When you click on realtime, the SAVE button
will disable, because video is saved on the fly.
FFMPEG is included in this archive, unlike the
guide mentions. Remember it's very beta!

Sorry for the rather huge archive, there are
    two example mpg's included.

    Felix.

    Sorry for the short guide.
First you should open de pip window,
    then the prefs window.
Then you should click on realtime, so that the
    save button becomes ghosted.
Then you can switch the prefs window to
another screen with MUI menu, the pip window
can be switched with the 'Jump screen' button.

I thought it was pretty self explaining, but that's
    because i created it :-)

    Hope this helps.

Someone write a better guide :)

    Felix.

Ok then, hope other folks will have some
    benefit from it too ;-)

We will make a site entry and some more
info about the program soon, we hope :)

I already have made a attempt to make
PIP MorphOS native, but i was stuck on
the save routine, mabe ill catch up one
    of these days too.

    Bye,
    Felix.
