Probably not, I'd just try to parse the output from the Version command better (to tolerate line changes and whatever you might come up).

Sometimes the version string is empty...
Sometimes command version don't found the version string...
Sometimes the version string is not the version of the software...
Sometimes i must use FULL option for commmand version, sometimes not...
Sometimes the version string is on the first column, second, ...., seventh columns of the version string...
I think a universal solution will be very difficult to do.
I realize some "Case" to show the good version number...
It's a long long processus but work when all is configured correctly
