Slow download speeds

    My Setup:

    iMac G5 20" iSight with 2.5GB ram
    Cat 6 cable into gigabit switch into fibre router. ( Have 200Mbps up and down ).
    Dual boot OSX 10.5.8 and MorphOS 3.13

    Downloading from OSX I get much faster download speeds than in MorphOS.

    Is this a limitation of MorphOS itself or is it an OWB issue?

    Edit: Uploading screenshots via attach file here doesn't seem to work?

    Error: 1: /var/www/morphzone.org/modules/newbb_plus/cache/attachments/ does not exist or is not writable.

    It's a limitation of NetStack (the MorphOS TCP/IP stack) and the SANA-II driver interface.

    This is the explanation why my PowerBook connected by wifi the OWB shows slow the sites and donwload the files.
    Thank you for this explanation; in a next versions of MorphOS is possible fixed this?

    Didn't this also depend your own network infrastructure somehow? For some users it can be extremely slow like that few hundred kilobytes per second in the screenshot, but for others it isn't that bad.

    When I try to download the SpeedDreams_2.0_data.zip from MorphOS Storage (I assume it's the same file/location), I get full speed with my 10/10Mbps network.. OWB reports steady 1.2MB/s with my Mac mini.

    Wifi is a different case, but with cables I've always got good speeds on MorphOS systems.

    Yeah, it's strange. But on the same machine, with 2 different os's, the speeds are radically different as per my screenshots.

    There isn't much wrong with my connection, running from my MacPro 5.1 :)

    You probably need to tweak your TCP Window Size settings. Can't remember right now if it's possible or not in MorphOS.

    Some info here: https://fasterdata.es.net/host-tuning/

    Wow! That made a huge difference!

    I upped and upped it until it peaked out. I'm not sure what the network card's limit is. I've tried Googling it, but don't get much info, and I'm pretty sure it's not a gigabit interface.

    Anyway, I ended up with this

    TCP_SENDSPACE=1024000 TCP_RECVSPACE=1024000
    LOGFILENAME="t:NetStack.log"
    MAXMEM=1024

    Download speed
