Wayfarer 2.5 is now out!

Once again, I'd like to thank everyone for their support and donations.

- Fixed a severe memory leak in JavaScriptCore, up to 5MB+ were being leaked per one page load in case of websites using SQL/IDB
- Fixed to terminate Audio Worklet threads (which has also leaked a JavaScript VM) on pages using WebAudio
- Implemented a warning (yellow shield icon) for mixed HTTPS/HTTP website content
- Updated OpenSSL to 1.1.1l
- Fixed a bug in Curl backend / networking that caused WebSockets to fail
- Removed MorphOS 3.14 threading workarounds
- Lowered WebAudio audio thread priority
- Fixed Download Image As... to popup a requester
- Disabled Download As window's menu
- Fixed double-clicking on downloaded items in Downloads view where Download As was used

I am not alone: there's Piru who updated OpenSSL for this release and often helps me track down some low level / system issues and there's all of the beta testers and translators that help making this into a fully fledged product.

Well I'd just like to say a really big thank you to all of you involved in making this browser happen, which might not be fully realised without your "support team", particularly Piru, but I mean all of the people involved in helping, including your family who've obviously "put-up" with your constant "bashing" at the keyboard, but for all your hard work that you've put in "above and beyond" what others might consider necessary. As it seems it would not be the browser it currently is without your enthusiasm and skill - I know I owe you a debt of gratitude that is only payable as a donation - you really deserve more.

Found a small issue playing YT-Videos: In some videos you can skip pre-commercials by a button embedded in video (depends on country - a link to such video don't make sense, because that's different in any country).
Anyway: This won't work in Wayfarer (in OWB it does). Sometimes button has no reaction, sometimes video stops for ever.....

"Download Image As" is missing in the German catalog.

May I ask what gfx card you are using for testing playing YouTube videos...?
On my X5000 equipped with Radeon X1950 Pro often the lower third of the videos are black and I have to try with the mouse pointer to get he full screen. In general, 'working' with the video (full screen, stop, play, changing sound volume etc) is a little tough...
Any options to make this more smooth on my side?

Sounds to me like you're short on CPU power on whatever you're trying to play. Several things you may try: make sure HVC and VP9 are disabled (since they need a LOT of CPU compared to h264), change the loop filter settings for h264, select a lower stream quality.

Youtube covering 3rd of the screen with its overlay is normal when the seek bar is up. Just move the mouse to make it disappear OR switch to Safari iOS/Youtube Mobile.

HVC and VP9 are disabled. The quality already is set to poor.
How can I change the loop filter settings for h264?

Crash report:

1.) Go to bahn.de
2.) Try to change the language (just to the right of 'sitemap') --> crash
or
3.) set departure ('von') and destination ('nach') station and then click 'Suchen' --> crash

Crash confirmed. I'll have it fixed in 2.6.

Shut down MorpOS, boot again, launch Wayfarer, copy link again: Does not work!
JavaScript is always enabled. It has nothing to do with the functionality of the website.
I just cannot see what is written in the second (between 'Update README.md' and 'b58d4d5') and third column (under '75 commits'). There are only grey bars. Unfortunately I cannot add a screenshot...
I could send a mail if it helps.

PS: Could it be a font issue (of GitHub or Wayfarer...)?

If that is what you cannot read, then I cannot see that it is Wayfarer or MorphOS that is the issue here, but something else which I certainly cannot explain at this time, sadly.

I've only added this so you know it seems to be viewable with my system, and probably others using similar hardware and other MorphOS systems.

That's definitely JavaScript not working properly on the site. *Most likely* this is due to a broken cache. Move all files in Wayfarer/Cache (apart from cookies.db) to trashcan and restart Wayfarer. See if that helps.

But why then it is the same with OWB...?

I tested your suggested workaround:

Fixed for 2.6. It actually broke with 2.0 - a setting got moved from RuntimeSettings (global) to per-Page WebKit settings and it looks like it was one of the 2 I've missed when rebasing.

Coming from my comment out of the news section: Wayfarer cannot load/use GMX portal normally (was possible ealier - but maybe GMX changed sth.). CPU usage runs up to 100% and stays there. Other apps still work (while being much slower of course).

Already tried a clean new install of Wayfarer, installing a previous version, changing all kinds of settings including browser ID but nothing works. GMX portal cannot be used at all unfortunately.

Could this topic be related to the rendering engine since GMX portal runs fine on other devices using different browsers (Firefox, Safari, Edge, ...)?

Are there any kind or detail information I can somehow provide to get this topic more clear (logs, debug infos, system specs, etc.)?


(When using it in OWB I can login and work normally but OWB is not capable of showing email content in read area nor any kind of icons at each email (delete icon etc.). Seems to be the case that OWB does not recognise the clicks on these mails resp. their icons. )
