How do you change the speed of paste? I would like to paste "slower" with RemoteShell because of lag in response.

There's no such thing as a speed of paste. The way pasting works, it goes through several layers that enforce a maximum length of the paste. Unfortunately changing this requires quite a bit of work.

It is actually just typing this into a terminal and the ssh backend ends up not receiving everything on time to avoid overflowing the terminal input buffer (if I remember right).
