One note for Yahoo users - it appears that adding a new account via OAuth2 authentication does not currently work due to a server-side bug. I've reported this to Verizon.

it's easy to open IRIS, but open directly with a file (right click) ?

    Thanks

Iris beta 71 can now be downloaded from https://iris-morphos.com/iris.lha.

    Changes include:
    - Implemented Drag&Drop of emails into folders
    - Finished the quick SMTP path for servers that automatically upload emails sent via SMTP to their respective Sent folders (like GMail)
    - Session handler fixed to request new OAuth2 keys before they expire - fixes a disconnect from GMail after running Iris for over 1 hour
    - Fixed embedding images in emails, added a mime type check on embedding
    - Added an ATTACH arexx command
    - Fixed not to leave outgoing messages in Drafts on the server
    - Multi-selected emails in Forward as Attachment action all land in one target
    - Fixed an issue where emails would sometimes not be sent out
    - Refactored all actions performed on multi-selected email lists to fix the problem where only pre-loaded emails would be handled by the action
    - Fixed several null pointer dereferences

Thanks! All your work is greatly appreciated. I moved to Kansas early October, and a few days ago I bought a Quad G5 Mac. Looking forward to try Iris again.

trying to select text for copying gets you back to the start of the email as soon as you click to select text. Happens in long emails that need to scroll down for reading.

Website looks great, and thanks for such a great piece of software for MorphOS users. I hope more people will donate for downloading such a polished software that is such a useful addition to MorphOS.

    @ jacadcaps -> IRIS is a really well thought out program, with great functionality . . . . You're .... The Man ! Thanks

What more is there to add before it's complete as a full version . . . i.e. when you're satisfied you've implemented all you intended to?

    Thank you.

There's still quite a few things to add (like displaying email threads) and bugs to fix. I also want to get the client certified by Google.

This is a really nice email client!
Setting up my accounts was a breeze, love how it automatically configures everything.

Many thanks for the time and effort you have put into this.

Edit: Posted stuff in wrong thread. Not much to see here. Working on an update but WebKit consumes most of my spare time these days.

Is it possible to configure a Google for Domains account in the same way as a regular gmail one?

    Thanks

If you mean a Google-managed email that's in a non-gmail domain, then yes, it should be possible.

Select Add Account, type in just your email and press Next. This will present you with manual configuration dialog. There you should set the OAuth provider to GMail.

Note that I have no access to such accounts, so if this doesn't work for you, it'd be cool if you could provide me with an account like that, if possible.

    @jacaDcaps

In case you would like to test this, I set up a morphos-user.com account for you. You should get the login details via automated message from Google at your runbox address.

In Thunderbird or Apple Mail, you just select the normal "Google mail" option and then just enter the full email address with your custom domain name. Everything else is handled as usual. No need for manual configuration.

Were you able to make it work with OAuth using a Google for Domains account?

    Thanks

Sorry, development of Iris has mostly stalled these days due to my work on WebKit. It is still on my TODO for the next update.

    Hi everyone!
Time passes fast and I haven't been here for a long time though I am still using MorphOS and following its development.
A brief message to say Iris doesn't work at all on my PBook G4 norr on PMac G5: followed instructions on Iris web page but after program starts opening main window and account window to insert personal data but nothing more. I opened the accounts window too trying to insert more datas but no account are there. when I close Iris it save a file called addresses inside Cache folder but it is empty.
Tomorrow I will try again and we will see.
Anyway thanks Jacadcaps for this program that seems promising!

Sounds as if the autoconfiguration service wasn't working. I'll see if it works for me later today.

Ok, I discovered the error: it's mine! I typed "©" instead of "@"... Forgive me, forgotten glasses =)
I configured Outlook mail but I couldn't do the same with Yahoo mail: address window stay searching and a "Continue in Odissey Wb Browser..." message. I guess Yahoo server problem. I will try with other mail addresses. Thanks!

Well, did Odyssey open the Yahoo login page? It should. It might not work though - their developer support is nonexistent since the last sale of Yahoo to Verizon and there have been some problems in the past. Regular IMAP access should work though...
