Why is OWB 1.25 AROS only?

    Fab:
Updating WebKit is quite some work considering my free time, but the real issue preventing a new release is that there is a blocking endian issue in JavascriptCore: it just doesn't work at all on bigendian/32bits architectures (all of them), and they just don't care at all...

My latest build, with broken javascriptcore, is based on a webkit from may 2015.

Well, another reason for the ISA switch to AMD64 and put all effort into MorphOS NG....

Just one reason for me, Fab has a child now ! so he has less time for programming Morphos.

    @ Yasu

Maybe setting up a bounty project could help to encourage someone (other than Fab) to fix the Webkit issue for all big-endian 32bit architectures.

The leopard-webkit project already has a big endian patch for WebKit:
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/leopard-webkit/files/600/Sources/
It's for a newer revision than Oddysey is currently based on (188189 vs 183644).

This branch has little benefit compared to Odyssey's webkit build, and it's still quite some work to sync with that one. What we need is a fixed javascriptcore for ppc/32bits archs.

Anybody who is interested to work on Webkit´s JavaScriptCore? The person does not have to know MorphOS whatsoever, which should broaden the pool of potential candidates a bit. Obviously, the most promising approach would be to contact the people who are already contributing to Webkit (specifically the JavaScript part) and see if any of them might be interested.

Perhaps using v8 would be a solution?

I didn't mean syncing with leopard-webkit per se, just using their patch as a reference to fix to JavaScriptCore in Odyssey.

If it's a money issue we should pair with the AmigaOS 4 crowd to gather enough money faster.

Fine by me, but when will that happen? By the time OWB 1.24 is about as behind as Ibrowse?

Is there any likelihood that OWB will be updated to fix the current limitations, and allow the improvements to the JavaScript core this year (2015) that AROS will be enjoying, while we remain stuck on this 2014 release?

Does Midori on Ubuntu MATE 15.10 PPC include such?

on Ubuntu 16.04 on a Sam460ex Midori 0.5.11 Javascript performs better than Firefox 42 javscript.
