Import XLSX will only show files with .xlsx extension. CSV would only show .csv.
I also find this confusing an inconsistent, because usually you filter files with the standard file requester features, but now it shows "#?", but still filters files. I think it would be better with the normal way if users would have some different extensions on purpose, which they still would like to open etc..

There's always the PDF 'printer' defined. That error sounds more like you have some 3.19 files in MOSSYS (classes/frameworks/mui.framework to be precise).
