    And i find a bug in 0.4.

    The button "Find me" works wrong. It deliver the wrong place.
    I connect with the Internet over a mobil with HSUPA.
    Maparium shows me ever time "Dortmund" not "Westerkappeln".

    It´s not a bug. Geolocating via IP addresses is known to be quite imprecise. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

    Specifically when using cellular connections, the issue can be quite bad as mobile devices get assigned a new IP very frequently as opposed to ADSL users who, despite having no static IP, often use the same IP for weeks or even months at a time unless you reboot your router quite often (see Deutsche Telekom).

    at least I planed so ;-) to include some simple possiblity to search for a route but I'm not completely sure about the GUI interface.

    about this ip localization. Yes this is very unprecise most of the time. Fun fact when I search for my cell phone number (Germany O2) sometimes the result is just "Europe", ehm yes, thanks for that information ;-)

    Hello,

    I just had a look at the current version.
    Loading tracks in FIT data format works great.
    But is it possible to just render the selected tracks but not all loaded tracks?

    Here you can download a AddOn to mapparium: gps_point

    With this addon and a gps usb reciver mappariun can move the display to your actual position.
    This little prog is compiled only for morphos.
    The second system, thats working on is 68k, but i can't compile for it.
    Aros did't work at all, because of lack of ARexx.
    OS4 did't work, too, because the lack of Poseidon USB Stack.

    I haven't read through all the posts in this thread, but does this application work for USA MorphOS users, or does it only work for European countries? Is there some way to import maps of the entire USA & Canada?

    Also, do you think that it will work on emulated Amiga 68k systems in the near future? I have a MacMini with an Intel Core2Duo CPU (upgraded to fastest that will work in the older Intel MacMini), that I have been thinking about installing in my car. I could boot Windows, or MacOSX to run one of the commercially available GPS navigation software packages, but would love to have something similar that runs under AmigaOS emulation instead. Even if this is just a map application, and has no navigation abilities, it would still be useful.

    Very nice. sadly I do not have such device, but I guess even NMEA-device would do it?

    @amigadave

    It's worldwide available. Amiga m68k Version is available but it needs a GFX-Card and a FPU, which should be no problem when using UAE ;-)

    @eliot

    Thanks for testing it, the next version will include a way to hide the tracks/routes from display

    The gps usb devices are serial2usb devices. They send NMEA 0183 with a serial protocol over usb.
    You can try to include it in mapparium, if you wish. Add a serial device reader and a NMEA Parser.

    Test of new version of mapparium:

    The router works generaly, but a search of any places ends up in a Error Requester.
    You can test this , if you try to find a route from "Hollenbergs Hügel". This place kills the router.

    68k use the poseidon USB stack, too. So it works.
    But WinUAE ??.

    Other thing: If you able to include something like Google Earth in your prog, you are my hero ;-)

    @ALB42:

    I planned a new addon for mapparium, but i need any new features in mapparium.
    I need in mapparium: little colored flags (position lat + lon ccoordinates like googlemaps ), Title in the flags, New AREXX comands for this, A new window with a list of this flags, Save/Load this list of flags.
    I can only begin to code, if mapparium support this.

    This addon is secret! ;-)

    UNLOCKIMAGELIST

    Style guide:
    File --> Project
    Trailing "..."

    works
    Code:
    rxcmd MAPPARIUM.1 hide

    doesn't work
    Code:
    rxcmd MAPPARIUM.1 quit

    @amigadave:
    this noobie-ness is more related to Amiga/MUI Stuff than to programming in general. I've never worked with MUI, locale und such stuff before I started using it with freepascal/LCL. I guess the MUI creators would cry if they look to LCL code see how I bend the MUI stuff to fit into the LCL-system ;-)

    @polluks:

    Thanks for report. The documentation I left out because of time.. too much other things to do at moment so I decided to keep them as private for pegasos-sigi2 (because thats the reason I included it) and describe them later for the public.

    StyleGuide - Is there a written, some kind of official style guide? I never heard of.
    File -> Project could be done, even I do not really get the difference :-P, I'm more used to File
    and the "..." I never got that meaning, it seems very different in some applications.
    in some it means a requester/window will open... in other cases only for the one open filerequesters, others I do not see any clear line
    (EditPad in OS3.9 for example has ... for New... but there is no requester if you select it)

    I thought "quit" is like "hide" an internal command handled already by MUI itself. So I'm not sure what to do here.

    There's some old obscure document by CBM about this somewhere... ;) The '...' in menus is supposed to be used if the menu action leads to opening a new window (be it requester or a new application window - does not matter).
