I think the problem is not the money, but rather WHO will port it. If it wasn't as complicated and daunting task as it is someone would have taken up on the bounty by now.

Sure, the Friedens did it (and closed the code they themselves write) but considering how they gave the AOS 4 camp a semi-working web browser, took the money and then stopped updating altogether it's safe to assume that there will either be no port or there will be a very crappy one.

    @Pampers

10k would be hard and take so e time, but with someone competent and maybe an early proof of concept...

Libreoffice ... not sure if clueless or just trying to push my button ;)

They released RC2 and RC3 of Timberwolf after they got the money :-)

I think 10k would be way too much. But it's just my opinion. I would prefer to collect such an amount for something much more useful than Open Office port.

About LO - not trying to push anything ;) I just tried LO last time I reinstalled my win machine, instead of OO and like it much more. Cannot say what's the reason. Just like that.

Then I was misinformed. But there hasn't been an update in ages. And most people I talked to agree that OWB is a much better browser :-)

Indeed, and I guess there won't be from the Friedens at least. RC3 install archive is missing essential files which therefore have to be taken from RC2 archive, which had been reported since RC3 was released (September 2012), but the Friedens took note only in January 2014(!). Needless to say that despite being promised, there hasn't been provided a fixed archive to date. The development had been handed over to ssolie and undisclosed team* in late 2013 anyway.

I guess it was a mistake to give them the bounty before being done. I can understand that they need the money, but taking it and then not finishing the project is, no matter how you see it, kinda dicky.

Last one just a bit offtopic: Synergy server for Windows costs $4.99 now. I'm a premium user and got few codes which will give you Synergy for free:

    ERQ6GPI7, F3OJGTL4, YQL2LYCD, F96DE1K0, LMMQ4T28, PGQZ3O04, LMDVELZS, UM227KPK, LVVZHC3R, DHKAVUKY (last update: 24.10.2014)

Just go to http://synergy-project.org/download/ page and use the code, you will get Synergy for free. First come first served, enjoy if anyone needs it.

Will this version be able to handle transfering of files between computers? THAT would be extremely useful for me, much much more than having 2 screens rather than a switch.

I got a bit delayed with this project (and MorphOS in general) but am now back on track and have started writing code. There's a bit of trickery I need to do in order to handle mouse 'jumping' to remote screens...

    Status Update:

I can now connect from either Mac or MorphOS to the server, and stay connected - there's no events passing other than keepalives so far though. Still, the backend is mostly complete and I will be adding mouse movement within a few days.

    Status Update:

Mouse now moves fine over the client screen. While this may seem like a minor accomplishment, it means the backend is complete enough to allow this (including virtual space screen placement, etc).

Coming up next: add mouse buttons and keyboard -> loading/saving of config files (gui comes later) -> first beta.

If you mean the server, then yes. If you mean the client: there was someone offering 50eur for me adding Linux support, but then he vaporized. I am a linux hater, so I am not installing it even as a VM without some good motivation.

Nice to see these progress reports. I haven't contributed to the bounty, but I really appreciate your efforts in doing this. Synergy makes life so much easier!

aah ok. I dont use MorphOS enough to pay the equivalent of 50eu for the app. No biggie.

Is it at all possible in the future to add drag-and-drop support between different machines?

I do plan on adding files transfer, but d&d isn't really possible in a portable way.
