When I start UAE I get the following error:

"you need to have a diskfile in df0: to use the kickstart replacement"

What does it mean? It does not come up with the game Shinobi but that crashes a few secs later.

Checked the path and name ? Must be in PROGDIR: and named kick.rom

I cant use it, i use the 1.3 rom, and a adf in the uae.cfg ... and doesnt can see it, im using the 0.8.22 from sixk...

and with the gui, why not say 68040? i like emulate it a 68040 for use my 1200 hd ( my 1200 doesnt run :( ) i was using 3.1 rom for intent run my amiga HD

Any know how make it running correctly ? what options... ?

I also not able to get run the SixK Port 0.8.22 but you dont really need a 68040 to emulate. 68020 with 68881 is ok for using harddrives.

Here works the 0.8.6c package and at the moment the 0.8.12 R1 port for Amiga PPC/WarpOS which can boot harddrives (check the Gallery for a shot from 0.8.12 R1 running AmigaOS 3.9).

Dont know what version you have downloaded but all 0.8.6 MOS-ports should work.

I have version uae_0.8.6.lzx (for MorphOS/PowerUP + GUI (muirexx)), wich is the first one on top at http://uae.meanmachine.ch/

That one should work. This really makes me go crazy. But then again, I attract a lot of weird probs. I will have a look at it later tonight to see if I can fix it. Is there a way to have it spit out a detailed buglog?

The strange thing is that some games seem to actually start untill they crash with "unimplemented kickstart function called". This will be a hard one to crack.

well i have a problem that when i start the gui it wont let me choose a screenmode when i putt in reqasl and with default uae startup freezes it working fine with mos 1.3 i didnt change anything here.arexx is running like it should be can anyone help here? uae is calibrating loope and then it freezes

I also tried that version from DJBase, but still the same. But nice package it is. Easy install.

I wonder if there is anyone that has a working version of UAE running, that would like to zip that directory and mail it to me? I got everything legal. Just to make sure it is not my settings or something else. I just want to make sure.

Just checked Back2Roots for "Shinobi". It seems this games crashes in the intro or so.

I installed DJBase's package (indeed really easy to install ).

Downloaded Arkanoid from Back2Roots.

Appointed the kick.rom to the kick.rom I extracted from my A1200.

And I played Arkanoid without problems.


I noticed that I can run the "UAE Launcher" only once, whereas the package I installed myself with the AUEWB.rexx does work repeatedly.

Sound doesn't work for me. Crashes the starting up.

And I don't seem to get the harddisk going on. So DJBase could you please explain how you got it get to work?

where can i get the djbase version then guys ??? uae just keeps freezing with mos 1.3 i didnt had that prob.

Very strange that UAE freezes, with default settings.
Did you try to start uae.elf from CLI with a few options?

Try this one:

uae.elf -H 1 -S 0 -x -O 704:566:d -J Ma -n i -C 3 -c 4 -Z 32 -0 wb.adf

With this startup I assume you've got the 3.1 kickrom and 3.1 wb.adf in your UAE dir.

Harddrives are not working with this uae 0.8.6c port. I will make another 2 packages which are able to use harddrives.

Sound works with 0.8.6c but maybe you should set it to 8bit 11 khz and mono.

I will try Arkanoid any time now to see if that works. If that also does not work I will open my window and jump out.

All this makes me feel like getting something up my site about all this very soon.

Arkanoid does not work. Same error. It might be that the kick.rom file is write protected. I unprotected it but still no luck. Maybe did it wrong. Does anyone know the right command for unprotected a file?

Just got back up after my jump.

Could also be a problem with the Arkanoid ADF file. I can't get Arkanoid to work either, but SimCity works just fine.
