I was one of trolls on aw.net that defended genesi from heavy insults coming from os4 fanatics. I always liked genesi more than ainc, mostly because that didn't lie about release schedule, have a functional product, have a pretty nice way of talking to community; and most of all they are TRUE amigans-their primary money is linux market, mos will not earn much....

But i saw announcement of os4 on efika, mos on efika, 1.5 'just behind the corner', $99 efika....
What happened with these? BBRV didn't post anything recently. Is it 'cos they are too busy and this is silence before the storm, or the promised plans changed?

We are posting something nearly every day! 8-)

How does that look? That is the new Firmware menu.

We have absolutely no intention of becoming Amiga Inc. OS4 already runs on the EFIKA, as does MorphOS. MorphOS is dramatically closer to being a real product than OS4. OS4 has a long way to go, but progress is good for everyone in this community. That is why we supported the AROS port. It looks like we have a new smart person around to help with AROS. That is great and necessary for the future. Each OS Team needs new developers.

We are on track for all we wanted to accomplish. It just takes time.

$99 EFIKA is true (Czech Republic), a lot of my friends bought EFIKA for this special price, Genesi donated 10 EFIKAs to our czech resseler! I think this is great support! And BBRV send one EFIKA to me - Czech Pegasos User Group

    More info: http://bbrv.blogspot.com/2006/12/99-efika.html

I really hope that you realize that without Genesi, there will be no Pegasos, no Pegasos II, maybe no MorphOS, no MorphZone... Genesi never becomes AInc... I know It's a pity, that there is no other hardware than EFIKA now and new MorphOS is not released. But it seems that MorphOS runs on EFIKA just fine (videos), I believe in next great MorphOS release, you must be patient.

I hope so and i still believe in you. Heck, i wouldn't waste hours on dial-up if i were os4 fanatic :-D :-D

Can we get some ETA for mos on efika, os4...? Will genesi have stand on computer fair in serbia in april or may? Will other countries also have $99 efika like in czech?

I like to read your blog but there are too many linux stuff and very little mos. Even the image of new firmware have options for win, qnx and linux. No mos

After years of waiting, i finally have adsl. Can we see some videos of mos in action on efika, pegasos...? I coud't find anything interesting on youtube.com...

How can you assume that bbrv have any say on the ETA of OS4 for the Efika? And based on what facts do you assume he's even legally entitled to have OS4 on Efika?

who cares...just live the dream and all will become reality!! ;-)

Seriously, I like Genesi/B-Plan/Mos-Team combo, they manage to get things done - they're men of action! If Amiga Inc allow AOS4 to run on Efika, I'm 95% sure Genesi will make it happen. If not, we know who to complain to. :-D

I agree fully with you that BBRV have done magnificent job supporting this community.

I have been truly impressed by them with my own experience of owning a Peg 2. They are responsive and always try to supply you with a quality product experience.

    Regards,

Now you have puzzled me with that firmware menu :-) There's then some platform capable to run Windows/QNX/Linux at the same time besides an X86 one?

Or it's just an "in progress" screenshot? :-)

Windows icon uses "monitor inside monitor" metaphore, so it is rather obvious to me, it represents Windows thin client, probably just Remote Desktop terminal. But there is another important question - where is the MorphOS icon?

Well, the top row is totally open and we are flexible. People surf the web, play games and watch video, not select MorphOS. But, of course the idea we have made clear for some time is that MorphOS is our preferred way to do as much of that as we can. You will note that MorphOS is still listed on the Freescale site for a reason, while the other older Pegasos/ODW related items/part-numbers are gone.

Anyway, Genesi has indeed a fantastick track record with us users. If they can get things right with the MorphOS-team it can only get better.
On the other hand the MorphOS-team is pretty much autonomous, and I have great confidence in what they can achieve, given also their past track record... I think what we will get in the end will be worth the wait.

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

It's great to hear that MOS and OS4 run on the EFIKA - and that AROS might soon do as well.

However, first of all 3 AOS clones are too much - OS4 and MOS are fully sufficient - and secondly everyone who's not part of the selected circle of beta-testers is really starving to get hands at this software.

Where's the problem to start some public beta testing, if it really is available already yet.

Who knows what the future may hold? In fact despite providing less for the user compatibility/application wise, AROS has a great advantage - X86 support. Neither MOS, nor OS4 has the same.

Don't think we have to be afraid of alternatives. :-)

    @ luky-amiga

    Sorry All for an OT.

    Hi Luky!

I remember the time when I used to play WB Army a lot.
Now, I can see on your website a Windows clone of this game. What about a MorphOS clone?
Will we ever see Ambient Army or MOS Army? :)
    Would be great :)

IIRC the current public pegasos2 firmware can already do such graphical menu. It is just not very well known. And unused.
