i must think about asynchronous api first, present code doesn't support it.

small update without new features but i've rewritten options code and get -15 kB SCANdal exe size. This code is still WIP and it is not finished yet but it looks promising:

Hi, I try to install/use SCANdal for a friend, he has an Epson Perfection 640 usb scanner, but it can't get it going :-(

Is it right that I need to enter "usbraw.device" in device? What would be the unit number to enter? And is it right to enter Epson2.device in "Scanner Driver"?

I did copy the file epson2.conf to s: and I edited it as follows:
    # epson2.conf
    usb 1208 266
    # scsi EPSON

    Is this correct?

Unfortunately I get an error, something like scanner not connected...

Any idea? Thanks in advance for help.

ps. i even marked important part in red color :)
ps2. next version of scandal will have prefs relayouted to not be confused when entering data

I'm very SORRY, I understand that you are upset, I did not read the doc :-P
But thanks very much for the link!

This friend of mine uses already SCANdal, I still use my scanner with fxScan because it
integrates scanning with ICS (colorcalibrated scans) which I really need. I very much look forward to SCANdal which also has this feature.

    Thanks again

another update (last beta before stable 1.5 release):

    * Saving projects, still WIP, saving to default.project file now, load automatically during Connect
    * Premiliary AREXX support done by Czeko who also did some cleanup in the code
*Major rework of device prefs, one can select connection type (USB or other) to avoid confusion
    * "Connect at startup" switch in prefs which automatically set tooltype in the icon

    Hello,

i have problem to use a usb scanner and i need help :-)
Scanner is a USB CANON D660U and I use MorphOS 2.7 and scandal 1.5
    plustek-usb.device in Devs/usbscanner
    plustek.conf in S:
    plutek.conf edited with poseidon parameters : [usb] 0x04A9 0x2208

I have this message: failed to open:
    MorphOS/Devs/usbscanner/plustek-usb.device
    Unit: 0

    http://library.morph.zone/index.php/Scanning_with_SCANdal#Configuring_EPSON_Scanners
    Quote:

    1.Download Driver: [6] (11.01.2011)
2.Copy the plustek-usb.device to any directory
3.In SCANdal preferences choose plustek-usb.device full path in Scanner Driver field
    4.Copy plustek.conf to S:
    5.Edit configuration file
    #[usb] vendor- and product-ID
    [usb] 0x07B3 0x0017
Additionally, scanner has to be unbinded from any Poseidon usb classes (if it is binded) and Device field in SCANdal preferences should be left blank.

Device field must be completed or left blank ?

    Thank you
