Hello All,

I am in the market for a New Digital Camera 2.3 to 3.0 Megapixel. While currently waiting for My Peg II, I will be using it on my Win2000 machine... What Cameras do you use in Morphos currently? I want to make sure that when my system comes that I will be able to use the camera immediately. Also Please point me in the right direction to get this Info.

Hi!

I have used a few different Digital Cameras on my Pegasos.
Most of the new Digicams are "portable media compliant".
This means that if you install a little program caled fat95 on MorphOS,
plugging the camera into any USB-port will show the cameras memory or
memory-card as a USBDISK on your Ambient desktop.

It works with all the Fuji and Kodak cameras I have tried.
As well as the Mustek DV3000...

I have a Fuji FinePix A200 running on MorphOS.
It mounts as a USB Mass-Storage-Device and
allows copying of files to and from the camera's
memory card. You need to set the "simple scsi"
flag in USB Prefs to get quick recognition of this
camera. Most Fuji FinePix models seem to have MSD
protocol so they should work fine. Here is an

Olympus Camedia-series seems to work faultlessly.

A lot of USB digital cameras works fine.
Attention : if you speak about a video camera to be connected by Firewire in DV native PAL or NTSC video formats, Morphos cant use it.
In this case, you can use a Composite video card like TVcard to grab videos.
You can grab your videos in DV with Linux and transfert them to mos.

My Sandisk USB Imagemate works fine but my Kodak DX4900 unfortunally not.

i have a Sony DSC-P52 3.2 Megapixel, no problems to use it
as a MassStorage with following settings for massstorage
SimpleSCSI
No Initial Reset
Translate CMD6->CMD10

Yes I tried PtpDigCam but it doesn't work. I get the following message 'No USB camera detected'.

It's not a big problem for me because I can use my SanDisk ImageMate to transfer pictures.

Has anyone used an HP 612 Photosmart or similar tech camera with Morphos?

I think putting together a list would be a WONDERFUL idea!

Toto has mentioned this but it's worth reinforcing that if you have a Poseidon compatible memory card reader you can use any digital camera that has a removeable memory card. Card readers are available that read all common types of card in one unit.

I've just bought a Canon A80 digicam which doesn't work directly but I can download its images very quickly by putting the compact flash card in my card reader.

BTW I don't have a Pegasos but I'm sure Poseidon works the same on all platforms it supports.

I have a Nikon Coolpix 2000 and runs fino on mos.

Also, not every USB memory card reader is compatible with poseidon, one of "good signs" is that, if there's no additional software needed for WindowsXP (But that does NOT guarantee, that reader would work)

It would be a good idea to check reviews of any camera to make sure it doesn't require any special conversion software. That said AFAIK all the other major camera manufacturers use a standard JPEG format.
