I know this is going to sound foolish to those of you who are more experienced.
But now that I've got the SDL engine downloaded, how do I install it?

And what do you want to do it with?

    Play games that require it?
    Develop something using it?

Can you recommend a better SDL package?

Both. First I'd like to run the SDL version of the GLexcess demo.
Then I thought it would make a good development system for multi-platform games.

I think its good to start write own engine, by using sdl or anything.
While working on it just try to find some usefull code for you rewrite it or reuse if licence is ok for you.
If you dont have time/bored to write it just find good one based on sdl or other multiplatform lib.

I'm not sure if you can compile and run GLExcess, never tryed....

I've already made a compilation of glexcess a couple months (years?) ago. But the glexcess code itself is full of bugs, so better be prepared to reboot after running it, anyway.

Thanks Fab. Looks like it could be useful in getting more familiar with this.

Are there any resources to learn how to use this?
