Is the VLC: assign really required? Can't you just use PROGDIR:, natmeg?

Assigns for the solely purpose that a single application can find its components/ files should really be a thing of the past these days.

    >Is the VLC: assign really required

Well, it's built with --prefix=/vlc, instead of /usr/local.
I must look where or what files depend...

if VLC is a libnix compile then a /vlc path inside the binary would fail anyway. So I guess this prefix is just used for istallation (make install) target after all.

I have tried to view some videos with VLC but it just quits silently. I ran snoopdos to see if there is a missing file and saw that VLC uses tinygl.library. Does this mean that it doesn't work with C/BVision, since there are no 3D drivers for these cards?

Edit: Even "vlc --help" quits silently. :/

I find VLC for MorphOS pretty stable. Its quite stable as beta release for MorphOS. Would be nice with GUI though, but its not an requirement if VLC already have pretty good DVD support itself.

Nice port, works well here. With a GUI it will be
    perfect!

Please add >= PowerSDL v12 to the list of requirements.
(Get it from Aminet, for those who don't know).

Very cool, thanks for your work on this. However, everyone keeps asking about a GUI and there is no answer. IS ANYONE working on this?
