Hm, have an EpsonSC640 here on the parallel device and that works. Does SnoopDOS give you any hints?

    Hi Johan

    Well, network-printing... :-)

I have not tried printing with the Pegasos myself yet, haven't have any need for this yet. But I see that it seems people having various results for some reasons, for some printing seems to work and some say is doesn't work.

Think I have to do a try myself. Sofar I normally save files over the network from the Pegasos, when doing work on this.

Amiganetfs is good to use between Amigas, and works also very good in MorphOS.

I print throw network using samba, have the printer connected to an Amiga, and it works good.

Maybe you simply can print to a file and when saved, copy the file to the printer, likely the way samba-printing works.

I'm not familiar with Axis, how does it works ?

About netpar.device it might be that this device is written for and use the Amiga parallelport, and therefore of course not will work with some other parallellport. Have never used this device as I remember.

    Cheers
    Gunne
    Best wishes, Gunne

    Hi klapdeur

If printing works with one software and not with another, one could imagine that it is some misconfiguration in that software that doesn't work.

Maybe you have to do some configuration in the software and specify which device to use etc things...

    Cheers

Well...the Axisbox is simply just two networkconnected parallellports in a box to which you assign IP information and gatewaysettings if needed.

From your workstation you simply have to point out which IP address and port your printer resides on.

    Ie. pr1@10.42.43.50

Above example states that the datastream should be sent to the first parallellport (pr1) on the device 10.42.43.50.

Yes...of course the netpar.device could be confused if the parallellport is not the same, but the intent of netpar.device is to capture the information before it reaches the parallellport and redirect it onto the network according to the configurationfile where you put the above IP information among other things.

Axisboxes and similar ones often handles more than one protocol, such as NetBIOS, IPX/SPX and Appletalk which makes them suitable for almost any kind of networking environment.

Tried some printing. Printed to a file on another machine, and it did work very fine printing with Pagestream and Finalwriter. However printing with CED and fxPaint wasn't succesfull.

CED prints to prt: so maybe its needed to make some remapping here, no time to look on this right now.

About netpar.device and Axis; Thanks for the information. I did take a look on it, and it seems to be two versions available on aminet, NetPar & NetParLpr. Maybe you have to try some different versions ?

    Cheers

I'm having trouble also. I think it is my ignorance on how to use
    turpboprint. :-(

Is there a device that needs to be specified. I'm using an Epson
    StylusColor 500.

    Thanks!
