Who uses it, or better yet, who recommends it.

I use it and I love it! Even for a newbie like me it is not more difficult than learning Basic. Great looking effects without doing much! The sripting language is efficient and really easy to learn. In german language there is now a very goot tutorial at http://home.arcor.de/telemar/Hollywood/Hollywood.html

Even if you don't speak german, just look at the demos, it's very easy to understand how Hollywood works. If I will have some more time in the near future, I hope to release my first game before christmas

I use Hollywood, but ironically enough I'm not using it for a presentation package. :P

I'm building a puzzle game. (It's taking a while mostly due to lack of time and just working on the graphics took up 70% of the time so far... :P)

It's great!
You can use it without designer because it's easy.
But the designer it's comfortable and you can work in WYSIWYG...

Basic language it's simple to understand so you can develop application (with some restriction, obviously), not only build presentation.

I use is too. And I recommend it too. It's easy to use and powerful. Yet I did some presentations with it (big advatage for presentations: I can build the presentation on my Peg and compile a 68k version for my laptop's WinUAE) and some other minor stuff, thinking of a little game now. It's just good for a lot of things and the price is a bargain.
