I don't know if this bug is known, but I just created some 160x160
pixel icons with ShowGirl0.5 and while showing those icons MorphOS
often crashes.

Here are the icons, just decrunch them to RAM:

Then open the "icon_test"-directory in Ambient... best way to make it
freeze fast is to resize the window while the icons still load... but
even without doing so Ambient freezes after a while playing around
with the icons!

Anyone can confirm that?

hmm... did not crashed here or something. worked nicely. Opened your test drawer a few times... no problems.


but just make sure you don't have _too_ much files in one directory.


and i strongly suggest to use a template and make the thumbnails a bit smaller... that will look better then.

oh.. and it goes to fast for me.. i cannot resize the window while loading the icons... as soon i reach the size gadget all icons are loaded already

And yes, they load up too fast.. its impossible to try resizing window while they load.

try playing a bit around, maximize the window to your full desktop
size, then sort the icons, move the drawer around etc., then it will
freeze sooner or later... I could reproduce it every time and my
MorphOS isn't messed up, so I doubt it only occurs here!

Couldn't reproduce it... I resized the window to full desktop, used the sort command, moved icons, copied icons,... I also tried to play with icon size of Ambient prefs: no freeze.

I just tried again twice and I always get a freeze... sometimes while I resize the window, sometimes a bit later... what could be the cause?
I would appreciate if you try it 2-3 times, so we can see if this is a MorphOS issue or just something wrong on my system... btw. I use a Radeon 7500, could also be a graphics driver problem...

No problems here. I am using a Peg G4 with a Radeon 7000 card.

it's better if you reinstall the OS or check the mcc class you installed-substiuted.

it doesn't freeze every time, but most times... so if you all tried
2-3 times and it worked, then its a problem here... but which files
are involved in Ambient icon image decoding?
