If we can have WordBasic as well it is officially set, we have our own version Microsoft Office for MorphOS!!

You want a flat list of approximately 900 commands, no OOP?

Not much has changed visually, other than a new formula popup editor, but I'll just mention that CellBasics now handles date/time/boolean types and supports following commands:

    - AND
    - FALSE
    - IF
    - NOT
    - OR
    - SWITCH
    - TRUE
    - XOR

    - AVERAGE
    - SUM
    - MIN
    - MAX
    - ROUND
    - ROUNDUP
    - ROUNDDOWN
    - INT
    - MOD
    - ABS

    - DATE
    - DATEVALUE
    - DAY
    - DAYS
    - EDATE
    - EOMONTH
    - HOUR
    - ISOWEEKNUM
    - MINUTE
    - MONTH
    - NETWORKDAYS
    - NOW
    - SECOND
    - TIME
    - TIMEVALUE
    - TODAY
    - WEEKDAY
    - WEEKNUM
    - YEAR
    - YEARFRAC

that's wonderful news. May I ask for 2 operations to be considered? One is TRIM and the other is VLOOKUP. Both very handy and highly used, but I get it if they're out of scope.

Have not gotten around to string functions just yet, but TRIM would definitely be on the list. VLOOKUP is apparently obsolete by now and you're supposed to use XLOOKUP :P I'll get to it eventually.

An application that can not display a poop emoji in all its glory definitely feels less complete these days, so thumbs up ! ;)

Oh yes, a complete office suite would be a dream come true. I hope there will soon be an opportunity to test CellBasic it myself.

Been a while since the last post, but that doesn't mean there was no progress - I'm putting some time into CellBasics almost daily. I've completely refactored the internal several times in order to get closer to how Excel handles formulas and values of different types. My initial implementation had no coercion for example (being able to translate "5" to a number and handling a number as a string value, depending on context).

    There's also this:

Things are moving fast and a first public beta is near. CellBasics supports almost 400 Excel functions by now and has a robust arexx interface that essentially lets you script the whole app (great for automated tests).
