    Mencoder does it from allmost every video-format:

    mencoder file.video -ovc raw -of rawaudio -oac mp3lame -lameopts cbr:br=128 -o RAM:file.mp3

    Should'nt be a big difference - MPlayer/Mencoder based on ffmpeg-engine (afaik)....
    Peg2, 3xPowerMac G5, 2xPowerbookG4, 2x MacMiniG4, Efika (again), A3000T and life is never boring.....
