Now this is something I did 1.5 years ago but never got around going much further so I thought why not just release it as it is and see if it gets some interest.

    Based on:

    https://github.com/n-t-roff/sc

    And here is my version:

    http://www.steamdraw.homepage.t-online.de/sc.lha

    Start with: sh -c "TERM=morphos sc tutorial.sc"

The sh part is needed to get aworking user-interface in Shell, the tutorial file is a good starting point to see what is what.

I also did a port of SCIM which is a branch of SC but the latest version failed to build due to incomplete widechar support. Older versions did work and I might provide them later.

What I now would like to know:

    - do all functions work as advertised?

    - is the functionality usefull in any way?

-> worth spending more time one it (aka bringing it up to a MUI app with the latest SCIM at it's core)?

    Hi Kronos,

Interesting experiment. I would go for a simple MUI UI that might make this tool more usable.

Also, what's the widechar incomplete support problem?

    Cheers

Well the question wasn't "will MUI improve this thing" but "is it worth writing a MUI GUI for it".....

When compiling the widechar version I got lots of undefined symbol, for stuff that is defined in the header (1:1 import from some *nix project I'd guess) but simple isn't implemented anyway.

Might have a look wether that has changed in a more recent SDK.

    Sowhat??

While I hadn't checked aminet for older versions I was fully aware that this pretty much for spreadsheets what vi(m) is for texteditors.
So no surprise that it's base is ancient, also no problem as it would suggest the code to be well tested and with minimal bugs.

Did anybody actually test it or should I just delete it as pointless brainfart of mine ;)

Yes, I have tested it a bit. looks promising and useful. A MUI GUI for options to list functions or open and save files would help a lot so you don't need to remmeber names or shortcuts or to check documentation frequently.

I haven't had any time to test it out, but YES, spreadsheet software for MorphOS is definitely needed and a valuable addition to our software library. If you have the time to update it to a newer version, I would ask that you do so. I will test it in the near future, and if I have time, I will even demonstrate it during the 2019 AmiWest Show that is coming up in a few weeks.

Thanks for your work on this.
