Not likely to my mind. Apart from the financial and organizational issues that spinning off entails, Motorola Semiconductor outright turned into Freescale, including its engineers and (internal and external) documentation. That's why today you can still find old Motorola Semiconductor documents on the Freescale website for some of their products which go back to the Motorola age.
