AmiNetRadio woes...

    Hi all,

Trying to get AmiNetRadio to run, but not quite there yet.

First hit a missing MCC class error, but was able to find the missing file online and have copied it to SYS:class/mui/ and that fixed it.

Now though, trying to launch gives me a brief red title bar and nothing.

Snoopium gives the following log lines:

    Action Target Name
    ToolType URL
    ToolType DECODEPRI
    ToolType PRI
    ToolType NOSTARTWINDOW

    What am I doing wrong?

Use Mplayer. Plays all formats, supports playlists and has a nice GUI.

When it just comes to mp3 or flac use Jukebox, which comes with MorphOS.

For Flac you probably need to install some beta flac decoder for reggae.

Installing AminetRadio is bringing lots of old crappy stuff to your system like E libraries AFAIR. I would avoid that.

Time to get rid of old stuff from the past.

Thank you for the advice. MPlayer working well with my FLAC files.

Always using Aminetradio for playing internetradio.
Just tried Mplayer for the same task..works ok but needs long time for buffering.
    And I can't seem to find a database/list off my netradio's?

I fully agree, but the problem is that there is no equivalent to AmiNetRadio for some stuff (like mod/chiptune players). And even for mp3/ogg streaming it is much more efficient than MPlayer.

Yes in some degree. There is an experimental FLAC decoder which allows you to play FLACs in Jukebox, but it doesn't support seeking or tags etc. Better decoder would be nice, but this will do for basic listening too:

And if you want to integrate it better to Ambient, check my signature...

Apparently you don't understand the irony behind that comment. Starting with MPlayer - it's fifteen years old and feels pretty old, at least what's left of it. I still remember the days when it wasn't just a command line viewer for ffmpeg for people without the RAM to use a proper player.

Let's not even go into that you're running it on a 12 year old OS designed for binary compatibility for an OS from 1991, on hardware that is probably more than six years old...

I use AmiNetRadio most of the time on MorphOS. It runs pretty good too. Mplayer is good for dvd-rips playback.
