Well I was super pleased on Friday as my “new” Mac Mini 1.5ghz turned up and I managed to get 3.13 installed relatively easily.

Considering my last Morphos machine was my Efika I got over 10 years ago I’m really impressed with what it can do. Particularly in regard to the internet and web browsing. Finally having an Amiga like machine I can use with modern tasks is so good.

Only issue I’ve run into so far is trying to install old Amiga software off CD’s. I’ve tried both Wipeout2097 and Wordsworth 6 and in both instances I can’t get the installer scripts to do anything, as they both cannot seem to see the actual volumes they need even though they both mount fine.

I have got Wileout2097 on my Efika so I must have managed to install it in the past but as it was over 10 years ago I cannot remember if there was anything special I had to do.

I can copy files off the CD’s fine and explore them fine but when the old Amiga installer runs it simply says it can’t find the installer script as if the CD isn’t there.

Am I doing something wrong or is there something potentially wrong with the drive in my MacMini?

Do I need to copy the CD’s off onto my hard drive and then run the installer from there?

Would you like to test the alternative installer?

With the CDs being mastered prior to MorphOS they will automatically point to the default Amiga Installer, so you probably need to adjust where the installer should look to use the MorphOS installer to install the program. Probably it will be enough to right mouse click over the installer and select the MorphOS installer from the options.

I know I've installed Wipeout 2097 on my system, so it's definitely possible to do so, and I think there's a patch file for MorphOS for the game so don't forget to do that as well. Here's a link to Wipeout 2097 files - MorphOS Storage

    Hope this helps. 8-D

Thanks for your help guys. Shows how rusty I am on Amiga based systems after a 12 year break, but I managed to use the MorphOS installer this afternoon and once I had found the install file, it was installed within a matter of minutes.

Funny thing is this evening I found the following thread from on here 12 years ago and me asking the exact same question when installing it onto my Efika!

Really should have taken a better looked before trying this time.
