    Well, 7 votes are not much. I hope bumping the thread may gain a few additional ones. Also feel free to leave your comments, maybe other formats proposals?

    Although FLAC sounds like a good idea perhaps other formats like MP3 or AAC would attract more interest. Or maybe a decoder/encoder that uses avcodec library to allow the use of more formats.

    I don't know much about audio but I think most of people use MP3...

    It might have been more votes if you had included some sort guide to what FLAC is ..... fast google tells me it's a lossless audio-codec, but whats the practical point when most (all?)digital audio comes in different formats ?

    Well, seems to me FLAC is nut very wide spread. I only own mp3 and ogg even though my portable audio player is capable replaying of FLAC.
    Thus, nice, but where's the every day benefit?

    I have all my samples FLACed. I saved 6 gigabytes of space and I still didn't need to sacrifice quality. Hows that for benefit :)

    My priority order: MP3, AAC, OGG, FLAC.

    So in my world would FLAC be nice, but still last on my list...

    Edit: And PNG+PNG24 image format. And general video support. :-)

    My priority would be: FLAC, MP3, AC3, AAC, but to satisfy the "masses" MP3, AAC, FLAC would propably be the way. Anyways what would we gain if we got a FLAC decoder in reggae? Isn't there already FLAC capable players for MOS?

    @Painkiller:

    yes, MPlayer is able to play FLAC-files, and there is also a FLAC decoder for AmiNetRadio. And last not least, you can use the FLAC commandline tool to decode FLACs to WAV etc.

    Reggae is nice but missing some key component to become really attractive.

    Count me in Krashan!

    Add MP3 and OGG too !
