    Since about 3 weeks i'm working full-time on it and it is possible that there will be site-update this month (but none knows how many stupid bugs i'll find before this beast will be in a shape allowing me to do write some status-update so be prepared that 'this month' could turn into november 2041 ;-) ).

    Someone without a name at
    http://amigaworld.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=3205

    states that you will abandon the bouty project and instead sell the browser.

    Is this true?

    @weiseb

    There were some talks with a few people about changing licensing scheme BUT nothing was decided yet. On the one hand selling istead of giving it away for donations will mean that I could spend more time on it but on the other a lot of people already donated (keep in mind that it's maintained by Targhan and refunds to all people that donated won't be easy, paypal will charge again for sending money, etc) and some of them might also don't like that money was kept for about one year, as they could spend them on something else. So, there're some pros and some contras of changing license scheme. And NOTHING was decided yet. BUT i'd suggested that if someone wants to donate now, he should wait until everything will be resolved. And most important - my main focus now is coding, not talking about money :-). And I won't decide anything until browser will be ready.

    PS. Closing source won't mean that it'll be MOS only. Versions for other amiga and amiga-alike system still are considered.

    Umh, LGPL doesnt allow closed source KHTML but it allows closed source browser. The browser is really different thing compared to this HTML rendering engine.

    In practise IBrowse could use KHTML and in this regard I dont see problem if your browser is commercial. Open source components are widely used in commercial/closed software anyway (PNG decoders...).

    Engine itself is LGPL and that scheme can't be changed. But also there're almost no changes to engine code itself (i made about 4 or 5 small changes so far). All interesting work is done in wrappers and they are on BSD-style license or completly written by my.

    Ok, now realy back to coding :-)

    Ah well... I see. Then it is your personal asset. But donations will be your problem :-)

    50 euros for an up to date browser sounds like an ok-deal to me. I am more of a see-first-pay-then-person anyway :)

    Lets put it this way:
    I would not have trusted it more, if a guy
    with an unknown nick who seams to have created its
    account (just) for that thread had posted it at morphzone.

    @marcik

    Thanks for your answer.

    At least from me you would most likely get less money if you sell it for 50 Euro...
    but I dont want to distract you from coding any further.

    I'd pay :-) I'm using other OS way too often just
    because of a missing webbrowser :-O

    Personally, I would not pay for a browser, not because i don't like your work, but because today a browser is ESSENTIAL for an OS ...

    This is true imho not only for Sputnik but also for many Amiga Software, like an MSN Client (Eg. Epistula), P2P's software, Video Players (Eg. DvPlayer) and so on ...

    Give me a big Word Processor (for example) and i would happy to pay :-)

    Well, you are working on probably the most important project for Amiga and Amiga like Os in a Looooong time. It is the most urgently needed application to make Morphos viable. I can't state enough how important it is to have a compatible web browser.

    Here's a suggestion:

    Release the MOS binary according to the Bounty

    Sell the "Amiga " 68k and os4 version seperately.
