Changing/removing CPUs in any G5 has a good chance for the fans going full power all the time.

My Powermac Dual 2.7 Motherboard, with replaced aircooled 2.0GHz CPUs, probably due to coolant failure has turned up. Ignoring the huge dents that Royal Mail have caused I had to do a load of fiddling with memory to get it going, anyway it was working with the fans on full until I ran the fan recalibration application on the ASD 2.5.8, which fixed it great.

I believe that the which I believe is freely available at sites such as

At least I believe it freely available, I mean it's not like Apple would restrict the availability of such a useful tool would they?

Anyway, I'm all set and ready for the G5 Powermac version of MorphOS.

    Just sayin'.

Yes, I am also ready when it gets here. I have a 2.3Ghz Dual CPU G5 , 2 GB ram, Radeon 9600 Pro coming my way. I am looking to get back into writing some software projects soon so the G5 will be a big plus on that front. Also hoping for much improved UAE performance for those classic Amiga games and apps. I have to say that after all this time MorphOS is still the setup I keep coming back to, so it's a good investment for sure.

What's the status of the port?

It's been a little while since we've heard any updates. There were some screenshots and progress reports. It's been pretty quiet lately...

Yes it was quiet as Bigfoot had a very little time for MorphOS in March. The good news is that from the beggining of next week he is back on track so we can expect G5 port to be finished soon (there isn't much left) and then fingers crossed for a 3.2 release (of course when it's ready ;)

I'm just curious...that is good news that he is able to work on it again.

A really abused word on this forum to answer to "when question" is "soon"! :-D
In every case I bought my Powermac (Dual 2,5GHz with a tasty 9800XT Mac Edition..) and it's waiting under the desk.

Slight update by Mr. Pampers at http://morphos.pl/423,3134

Google Translates to pretty much what he's just said about 3 posts above this one:-
This time, I instead Bigfoot :) From personal reasons in March was pretty dead month in the development of the port G5. Fortunately, next week BigFoot back to work on the port (and it was really not much to do) and then is we just have to keep our fingers crossed for the intentions as soon as possible MorphOS 3.2 release version;)
