    Hi, since we're getting close to the launch of the site (on or by Friday)..we need to recruit some volunteers to help run the site. I already posted what we needed in another thread but we really need some people to step up.

    First of all, I'm website development only (and moderator on the site/forums)..I'm not going to be in charge of making bounties or handling money or anything like that.

    What We Need:

    1. One (possibly two) volunteers to handle the money/donations. Requirements are you have to be trusted by the MorphZone community as well as be willing to spend some time if need be. Duties would be managing funds and keeping track of what goes where (on the website), distributing funds, and receiving funds. We plan on taking various forms of donations, including online donations (PayPal and maybe the Amazon donation thing) as well as physical donations. You'll probably have to open up a bank account as well, as holding them in an online bank (i.e. PayPal) is unsecure. The main reason I think it would be good to have two people is mainly one for the North America and one for Europe..anything else can forward to one of those two for physical payments. We'll see though.

    2. A group of volunteers (specific number to be determined..basically whoever is interested and will spend the time when necessary) to decide which bounties should be created (based on posts in this forum) as well as assigning the bounties as necessary. Basically everything bounty related that isn't the actual development. How we'll probably do things is just vote on them. You don't have to be in this group just to have a say in things though, everyone will be able to say whatever they want. Basically bounties will be created if there seems to be enough interest (I think). I'm not entirely sure, this group might just be a select few who are given permission on the site to create bounties, since everyone can decide what they want anyways.

    So if you're interested, just post so in this thread. The treasurer position(s) are the ones we'd probably need someone to speak up a little more quickly, since we can't really have a bounty site without someone handling funds.

    Thanks!
    psr.

    Sounds great! I would love to help with the account for funds, but I cant get a Palyal account. They locked mine and wont release my funds back to me. Since I have a small claims action against them I dont think it would be a good idea to even use them. They are not what they seem. If someone wants to manage the palpal part thats fine though. If it comes down to starting the site and we have no member to collect bonties I can setup one at my credit union, but again I will not open a Paypal account. Its not going to be hard to manage the funds. All you need to do is mail any checks, money orders, and cash payment to the account and post the totals to the web master.

    My idea for the bounties is to start some rewuests in the thread. When we get a good list of requests the poll function will be used to start a vote. After a week the top 10 will be used.

    Well, I'd like to help, but I'm not sure if can help with setting up paypal accounts etc. and manage the funds, since I'm not far from completing my study and I havent got a single clue what I'll be doing next (hmmm, maybe travelling; suggestions? ;-) ).

    I'd like to help out otherwise though. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see how things evolve or pm me if you come up with something :-)

    I am interested in helping, I would just need to understand How this is going to be organized, before a make a long term commitment to any project. Is the organization already thought out or are we still in the design stages??

    Thanks,

    we're past the design stages..

    and as far as the PayPal stuff posted about..we don't have to use it..i'm pretty sure Amazon has a system specific for donations and I've never heard anyone have any monetary problems with Amazon (not counting the amazon marketplace)

    EDIT: no one needs to make long term commitments, its volunteer and we're not gonna force anyone to stay..however, if youre a person who is handling funds i'd ask that you atleast give us some notice so that we would be able to find a suitable replacement

    I still fear that the whole bounty-project may die a sudden death due to the bounty being to big that noone takes them.

    Donators would soon turned pissed ...

    So I think we should start with small and relativly easy bounties, and leave the biguns till later.

    So I hereby volunteer to check wether a proposed bounty could be done in reasonable time.

    That is why we vote on them before they get put up as a bountie and we can decide before hand if its a hopeless one too I guess, but you never know. Some of the AROS bounties were thought to be to big, and yet some of those types got done! Mozilla wont be a MOS bountie for example. Its got a donation sight, and it would be a wast of money. Now an updated broweser based on KHTM could be used I guess.

    Posure, Tell me more about the Amazon donation system? I've never seen it. I think i would like it though. Link?

    @Acill

    A vote is nice, but a pure count of heads won't be enough to make sure that only feasible bounties get listed.

    That is true: I guess a lot of people would vote for an Open Office bounty, while it is highly unlikely that someone would actually take on that bounty (and this way making less money available to other more feasible bountys).

    On the other hand, who decides what would be a undoable bounty? Will it be a subjective "the counsill decides" approach, or will there be set criteria?

    I think that be must be as people of
    Haiku, they has the non-profit
    status approved by the IRS. They has permission to solicit donations and the paperwork to get a certificate to buy things tax exempt...
    This will make MorphBounties project better for various aspects. I don't know how runs thios and it needs be some type of organization, but this need be consulted, I'm not in USA so I can't help...

    @Kronos

    I agree, first start with small things...

    @Stevo

    Better criteria, common sense...

    "amazon honor system"

    i googled and saw (only on a single website) that amazon may take 15% for themselves..but have been unable to verify that..saw that credit card fees were USD$0.30 + 2.9% though which is like the same as PayPal
