If you read my other post of today, you had probably heard that I'm a returning user of MorphOS, somewhat rusted after keeping my system stored for 1 year because of a lengthy relocation (international).

I'm trying to catch up now and among the things I'm trying to remember is how to configure E-UAE. During the time that I was limited to use WinUAE and J-UAE in an AROS laptop, I became reasonably fluent with those emulators, but I'm struggling to figure how to configure E-UAE to work. I can't remember how to use the Launcher or how to define the path to adf files, roms, kickstarts, or start adf apps or games by double clicking the icon of the adf.

I have all available kickstarts and roms in AmigaForever. I also have a WHDLoad key, so I'm guessing that I have everything needed for a good configuration...the question is how?

Is there any downloadable guide or links that I could be referred to?

    Thanks for any response.

I'm interested in this too. I can't figure out how to get E-UAE to work myself. I also have all the ROM:s from Amiga Forever.

    Thanks! This was helpful :-)

I had problems with my game pad where the fire button was automatically chosen to a non existing one. So if the pad doesn't work you might need to change the prefs for that unit.

@Papiosaur - Thank you for the link, but the truth is that even the French version, which I understand without a problem, is rather a guide to manually install E-UAE and configure the script. I must confess that I am at not at that level yet, after not using my Morphos computer for 1 year.

Since I have all kickstarts and roms, what I need is a guide showing me how to configure the rhLauncher; for instance what files (roms) to install and in which path?

I have made several attempts to copy the roms in a folder that I called Roms in SYS:Emulators/E-UAE/Roms and I also changed the names of the files to kick13.rom and kick.rom (3.1)and entered the path under the CONFIGURATION tab of the rhLauncher, but not luck.

Could you or anyone give me some further guidance?

    Thanks

I swear this comes up every time, and should really be implimented better. There are several threads on this here, but I'm
not a patient thread surfer. I have my setup working fine with a program called igame seach for threads on that, and they should lead you in thr right direction along with the readme from Fab. Other than that keep pressing, and someone will come along with an optimal straight forward setup guide which will help you out.

Let's see if someone comes to our rescue.

Configuring J-UAE is automatic in AROS when using the AmigaForever integration. Amiga OS 4 automatically installs and configure RuninUAE, including the integration of GUI to launch adf with a double click. WinUAE offers tons of documentation of how to configure, use multiple emulations, WHDLoad, HDF, etc.

I don't see why having something similar in an OS as sleek as Morphos would not be possible. Let's see if we attract some answers.

I don't know if rhLaunch can handle Amiga Forever ROMs.

I have done a tutorial about E-UAE and a mini part about rhLaunch :
    http://obligement.free.fr/articles/euae.php

With Papiosaur previous link, you can launch ADF transparently, it's like RunInUAE (but not as easiest to configure).

I can write other tutorials if needed.

A good basic configuration based on Amiga Forever would be really cool. "Got Amiga Forever?" ""Yes" "Want automatic installation?" "Yes" "Done".

Is it really THAT hard to put a rom file in roms/, the system in the dir you want and use one of the presets config files ?

Regarding transparent adf launching, it's just about adding an action to the ambient adf filetype, calling UAE with the adf path as parameter. I even supplied a filetype in bonus directory as example.

Seriously guys, it's easy. Just take the time to read the readme.

I have copied roms to roms, and changed their names as per guide in French and still is a no go.

Where do you have euae installed? There should be folders there.

Did you configure rhLauncher to look in the folder where you copied all the roms to? I believe once you set the paths in the configuration of rhLauncher, you have to close out and reload rhLauncher.

Gave it a go, and this Mac Mini does a pretty good job considering it doesn't have JIT.

OK. Can we try to do this step by step?

I just realized that I have 2 separate folders containing E-UAE; bith are in SYS:. One is called Emulation, so the path is SYS: Emulation/E-UAE.

The other one is called Emulators and its path is SYS:Emulators/E-UAE.

Both E-UAE folders conrtain a folder named "Roms."

When I launch the rhLauncher and check the file paths for the roms, they both point to emuls:Emulators/E-UAE/roms

I don't recognize this paths or I don't see a directory called "emuls."

Another perhaps important clue si that the rhLauncher in SYS: Emulation/E-UAE.finds 5 kickstarts and 17 roms in 17 groups.

While the rhLauncher in SYS:Emulators/E-UAE finds 1 kickstart and 18 roms in 18 groups.

The other relevant fact about my settings is that I have Chrysalis 3.3.1 installed in MacMini.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

That's true. How can I fix this without having to reinstall all over again? I have some applications I can't afford to lose.

I installed Chrysalis right after updating MOS from 3.1 to 3.3. So I took that as a fresh install.

I'm also guessing that I should be able to delete one of the Emulator folders and direct the right file paths, right?

    You should:

    - copy all files of your partitionS to an external drive (a drawer sys for system partition, etc...)
    - install MorphOS 3.3
    - install pack Chrysalis 3.3.1
    - copy what do you want to keep at "the good place"

    @WeiXing3D:

    You must :

copy your Rom 3.1 file to sys:Emulation/E-UAE/Roms/Rom.kick
copy your Rom 1.3 file to sys:Emultaion/E-UAE/Roms/Rom13.kick
copy Workbenck 3.1 files to sys:Emulation/E-UAE/Harddisks/Workbench
