Currently i tried to copy some files from and to my external WD drive. It has a FW800 port.
The problem with this, the system immediatly freeze, when i plug it to the G5 sytem. At first i thought that it is because the 3.2 system, because on PB wth 3.1 it worked flawless. At least in fw400 mode, but still faster than usb2.0.

I quickly cheked in on my PB with 3.2, but works ok.
With usb2.0 the drives works also with the g5 system.

Is this problem helios related or g5, or just my system not like it, or known at all?

My guess is that the Firewire driver is not compatible with the Firewire device in your G5 PowerMac, as it is likely to be different than the one inside of the G4 PowerBook, or any other G4 Mac system.

I think the same. Anyway who is the author of Helios? Yomgui? Maybe he can solve this.
