Two days ago I received my new AF issue (great job once again guys!). I opened the envelope and just flip the pages around my fingers to get a glance of what's inside. Once I finished I got a strange feeling. Then, I made another pass more carefull and damn it strike me! Though 20 pieces of software are reviewed not single one is MorphOS exclusive. MorphOS support is mentioned only in 3 cross platform softwares. Furthermore MorphOS gets only 4 news items (between page 4 and 5) of just 30 lines on a three column page while, on the other hand, there is a whole page dedicated just to OS4 depot updates. Finally there is not a single screenshot of the platform within the issue, from start to finish (i.e. running YAM or MUI Royale or Scriba, Taran etc).

As I understand the material of AF covers the period between late Dec 12 and late Feb 13 (roughly), and before starting this thread I made a quick recap of the last 3 news item pages here in MorhZone. Regretfully, without a doubt it has been an extremely quiet period :( Still the fact that there is not a single picture of MorphOS running ANY of the supported / reviewed software unbalances the overall status of the mag in my eyes. Just my 2 cents ofc..

Not all items submitted as news gets through. For example I (*) don't accept a submit if its not significantly MorphOS related or if it's a very minor software update.

    * These usually won't get deleted but left for other mods to decide whether to accept them or not.

To know about MorphOS software releases you should follow http://downloads.morph.zone rather than the news items.

Yeah, I know, I mentioned the news items since *that* software / downloads could be considered more important in order to appear at the front page.

So, I went back and checked the previous (100th) issue of AF more careful this time: Overall, eight lines of MorphOS news (regarding SteamDraw in a three column page) and one half page MorphOS software review (gOCR) featuring a 3x5cm (if not smaller) screen grab. That about sums up MorphOS presentation on AF between mid - late October - December 12.

Is there a dedicated author / editor or reviewer on AF regarding MorphOS or anyone can contribute?

Though the recent months have been truly quiet, at least 1-2 pages on AF could be filled up with software reviews or updates, imho.

The work for the AF is done by freelancers. More MorphOS freelancers mean more MorphOS-related articles. Andreas Magerl is open to any Amiga-related news, it's just a matter of man-power.
