Been on the fence for years and finally did the deed.

Purchased MorphOS today and can't wait for my license to arrive.

Been an Amiga owner and user since late 2009 early 2010 and a happy AmigaOne X1000, Amiga A1000, and Relec The Red One SAM 440ep owner today.

Own a Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz with 3 external stacking LacIe style drives so have a nice little MorphOS system now next to my X1000. Connected to it is a Logitech Solar Wireless Keyboard and Logitech Wireless Mouse.

Both the X1000 and new Mac Mini MorphOS system are connected to my Samsung 27" SyncMaster SA950 Display and will share it for now.

I have tinkered with MorphOS over the last 2 to 3 years but decided in 2013 I will get much more into Amiga so will use both my Amiga OS 4.1u5 X1000 and now the Mac Mini running MorphOS for more day to day work in my home business.

    So, hi!

    tj

Good For You!! I've been running Morphos starting with 1.4... It was good then, but was greatly improved with 2.0, I haven't even installed 3.1 yet... but will do soon. I love Amiga Systems, some day I will get the chance to Run OS4 too. Enjoy!!

    Andreas,

The Relec sees very little use as I use my X1000 all the time.

One of those things I was offering for sale much cheaper than paid in hopes to find someone that could use one but not willing to sell at a huge loss since it was purchased in 2011.

So it remains on my desk with periodic use.

Of course why that matters to you is beyond me.

May have been easier to say "hey, welcome to MorphOS, and have some fun".

Anyway, thanks katos1 for the nice greeting and hope you get your systems of want soon also.

BTW, I first downloaded and tried 2.0 back when it came out, then 2.5, then 2.7, and said once 3.x comes out, it will need to be purchased. So, I did the deed today and looking forward to it.

    TJ

Here is the setup I have going right now.

Cool deal. I had a Pegasos II until it died. Now I have a PowerMac G4. Got it for $150 loaded! I want to find a faster processor upgrade next...

    Hi TJ,

I thought you had purchased MorphOS a long time ago, but congrats on finally pulling the trigger and getting a registered MorphOS3.1 system. Your two systems match mine, except that I also have several other MorphOS3.1 computers, in addition to the 1.5GHz G4 MacMini.

All G4 MacMini's make good little MorphOS3.x systems, but the 64mb VRAM model with the 1.5GHz G4, is an even better system.

Did my MorphOS display table at the AmiWest Show have any effect on convincing you to finally purchase a MorphOS3.1 registration license?

It was fun seeing you at the show this past weekend. I hope you had as much fun as I did over the weekend. My goal is to find a way help SACC more than double the attendance for the 2013 AmiWest Show.

Glad you now have your registered MorphOS3.1 license key and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Welcome to our world :) I'm sure you'll love it.

By the way: Would you mind giving us your registration number (should be somewhere in the payment link you got from MorphOS team support - something between 1600 and 1700 I think) so that I could add you to the graph?

I just find it funny that you call yourself a happy owner of a machine you have unsuccessfully tried to sell several times and that "sees very little use" as you say yourself.
Of course, you can feel happy about whatever you want to and express it, and same way, I can find funny whatever I want to and express it :-)

    > May have been easier to say "hey, welcome to MorphOS, and have some fun".

Yes, that would have been easier to say indeed :-)

Man you did the right move! Money spent on MorphOS and/or MorphOS software is truly well spent! You will never ever regret it. Only problem I find with MacMinis is the very low VRAM of the GFX (32/64MB) and the lack of option to upgrade them. Problem occurs imo on high resolutions/using MorphOS on bigger monitors etc, currently I have 64MB on a 9000/PMAC 3.1 and sometimes on 1280x1024@32bit Ambient I found myself keeping an eye at the the free ram gadget on the sreenbar :P As for SamEp-Flex, I sympathize you, I have the 440ep version and the reason I decided not to sell it was that by that time the flex edition had already hit the amiga shops and I didn't want to give it for a huge loss. In any case, again congratulations for your decision and welcome to the scene :)

Firewire works with my extrenal drive (no Lacie though), but it's neither reliable as nor fast as usb is. Hence my suggestion: If you can use usb instead of Firewire with current MorphOS (I am confident Helios will limprove further though).

And: Welcome Macsociety, nice collection of computers you have.
