    Or maybe, if it's released first, AmigaOS4.1 will have a better web browser than MorphOS?

    I thought AOS was already at 4.1.

    We forget these differences, the most important is than AmigaOS4 and MorpOS will have a good browser, the enemy is Windos.

    These 1.17 sources are already a bit old, actually (January). My latest sources are from today, and based on last week WebKit. :)
    I could release 1.17 already, but i planned to add a couple more things before.

    So will MorphOS 3.0 be a free update? I hope it will be out soon hopefully before I have success in selling my Pegasos 2 so I can have a quick spin of the new MorphOS release.

    The original term is "two more weeks" IIRC.

    Anyway, it seems 3.0 is probably not far off now, Piru said something about finalizing and there are also some other indicators (Andreas provids a few links regarding that), that 3.0 wil be out rather soon. Whether it will be tomorrow or in 2-3 months is a detail, but I suspect that's the actual timeframe we should expect something (I'd be surprised if August 1st wil still be 3.0 less). I can be wrong though and for sure I wouldn't bet my house on that time frame, but a tener I would easily risk.

    I have a PowerBook waiting for 3.0 It has OS X installed on it but seldom gets any use. The few times I have used it I've noticed how warm it gets. The cpu must be running quite hot - is the operating frequency (and hopefully heat output) controllable via software?
    PPC assembly ain't so bad... ;)

    @ausPPC

    If you've only launched OSX on it a few times, I'd imagine it was indexing your hd for Spotlight. That would of course make it quite warm indeed.

    The CPU in PowerBooks has a DFS2 mode which lets it run at half the nominal clock. That in conjunction with NAP mode makes the PowerBook really cool when idle. MorphOS of course makes use of both those features. It also monitors the temperature and controls fan speed accordingly.

    That's nice to hear. Does "MorphOS" here mean "MorphOS 3.0" or "MorphOS 3.x"? :-) I ask because at Alchimie this feature was said to come only after MorphOS 3.0.
