I made a clean install of 2.5 on my MacMini. Everything worked fine on 2.4 but on 2.5 my network is dead.

The settings are completly the same as on 2.4. Default settings with DHCP but when I try to use OWB I get an error saying "Uanable to open (the webpage I am trying to open) Error 6: Couldnt resolve host name."

It is the same if I try to access my Server or my router. No connection.

It is not OWB since AmiTradeCenter can't get online either.

On 2.4 OWB sometimes could be a bit slow to get online if I started it at once but on 2.5 there is no connection at all.

I have tried to install with a new media to be sure that it is not an install error.

I have alsol tried to switch to static IP but so far with no luck.

Any ideas? I am getting a bit desperate here.

Does network work when you boot from CD? Check with 2.4 too.

I tried to boot from the 2.4 and 2.5 disc but there was also no network. Same error.

Then I tried to boot from my Max OS install DVD to see if the issue was hardware related. There was network access on the mac side.

I then booted back in to 2.5 and now the network is back. It is very slow and a bit unstable but it is there.

Is there a way to test the connection?

I have similar/same problems here, so I would suggest to replace the sungem_eth.device from MorphOS 2.4 because here when I use the new device from 2.5 I can't even connect to the internet neither the LAN.

That is the driver placed in Morphos/Devs/Network?

I replaced that with one from 2.4 but it dosn't seem to make any difference (renamed the new and copied the old back).

Does anybody know if this problem is related to any part of network usage or only OWB (which is a great browser!!)?? When I use FTP - at least on my LAN - it works very well.

If LAN works, then it's probably just a matter of setting DNS server or gateway address in network preferences.

this is really strange because here Internet seems to work quite well but LAN doesn't, well it works but very slowly with interrupts, though I'm using Envoy3 and not FTP. BTW FTP using ATC, but no local aera network, works quite well.

    @Fab

I made my IP static and filled in the DNS information and now it works fast and rock solid.

    Thanks! :-D
