Anything you need to know is in his comment, pay attention to the smiley, no automagic clustering or anything like that.

no, it won't happen anytime soon, it's not just about a driver.

this one is doable and should be done for sure

    3) bluetooth maybe

probably not. Not before someone writes a bluetooth stack, hard work.

I wouldn't like to see any dev wasting time on this.

There's no such limitation in the system. You can use >4GB files with Ext2, NTFS, ... Only older filesystems like FFS or SFS have this limit.

Ok then lets say a filesystem that supports amiga protection bits and is supported.
So that i am not stucked using sfs2 :/

Ext2 is outdated (no journaling), and NTFS write support is, hm, let's say it is
    experimental.
No other choices are out there.

sfs2? I doubt the 68k version supports large files :)

    @eliot

That's still not a limitation in the system itself, but in some filesystems (and NTFS has no write support at all, btw, so you can't say it's experimenal :)). But obviously a new 64bits filesystem will be needed.

Never said that it is a problem of the system itself.
But nevertheless, a new Filesystem (sfs or whatever) it needed.

Never tried NTFS on Morphos, writing of NTFS partitions in
    Linux is experimental. Sry.

As i dont have 64bit smbfs, i cant say :)
But true, i mainly use it for large partitions.
Seperating a 1 TB HD into 127GB Target HDs is....

A new 64bit filesystem would be great, lets say it that way

At least some tools seem able to handle files larger than 4GB over smbfs here, not using new dos 64bit functions, but still :)

    Common sense i think.

Macmni is aimed to use at home, where is more than feasible that you already have a wired router.

In the other hand, a laptop is aimed to use on the go, where wifi is more than welcomed. Where are the lan cables at the coffee or the public park?

Are u sure u not getting trashed files? For example mplayer crashes badly with over 2gb files.
Using NFS Mplayer doesnt crash but just stops playing at a certain point.
Just to bad as i for example cant access my movies from my receiver at my office room :/
smbfs 64bit should be integrated in MorphOS. Well just a wish from my side.

I use wifi on some of my desktops because it is very difficult to get an ethernet cable to parts of my house. I would also think that any drivers, and supporting software developed, to use the mac mini's wifi could probably be used for a powerbook. I could be completely wrong though.

Yes, I tried verifying the md5sum of a >4GB dvd iso, but this is using the workaround (or similar) described for SFS2 on OS3.

I can see further description is required:
    1. Finish/simplify networking to allow for connections to multiple PC Shares, or to create a Samba server simply. SAMBA is not easy to install, SMBFS can only have one connection and is far from a good solution, and Envoy, I've heard is great for connecting Amiga and compatibles, but it can't be used for other oses.
1a. Adding the ability to browse and map to other servers.
    2. Fix 4 gig file size limitation - Others have stated is nicely, no need to add to it...
    3. Finish media center - Saw it a while ago, would have great curb appeal to MOS.
    4. Port to VIC20 - Only because I miss Gorf...

that's my 2 cents and humble opinion...

    *FACEPALM*.

... or to put it another way, i tried to mock people, who get excited about every announcement or rumour, without any base. In this case 'bout SMP. There is no such thing as "multi machine support" or clustering in MorphOS. I was talking about simply running two separate MorphOS instances on two machines on the same desk, which anyone can do who has at least two machines, capable of running MorphOS. So there's nothing to see here. Move along.

Speaking of Filesystems in MOS, is there support for read/write HFS+ and/or Unix FS?
    My Macs:
    Powerbook G4 ALU 1.5GHZ 15" 1.5GB OSX.5.8
    Powermac G4 MDD 1.5GHZ OSX.5.8 MOS2.7

Want a part for a Mac? Let me know, I'll see what I can do.

Amithlon is amazing, questions and help I can provide.

"L/HierarchicalFileSystem [NEW] Read-only filesystem for Mac HFS+ disks (only data fork is supported)"

    > and/or Unix FS?

What's "Unix FS"? There are filesystem handlers for SGI-XFS and EXT2/3.

1 UP @ WiFi on Mac Mini!

This is the only machine at my place with an ugly cable going through three rooms. Yes, I know I can buy a small cheap wifi extender but...

Other stuff I don't care that much now, still playing with the basic setup...

Why bother with laptop support without WiFi. Sort of defeats the purpose.

I've got an iBook just waiting for MorphOS!

G5 support should be within the next two years, even if it doesn't make use of the 64-bit capabilities of the CPU
