here's a thread for those who experienced troubles after upgrading from 2.0 to 2.1.

    Here are mine :

    - one of my partition disappeared, and is considered as non-dos now when i try to access it with a file manager like dopus :-( (it was my games partition, a SFS one like my other partitions)

    - "about morphOS" still reports "2.0"

    - Mawi demos still don't work (2D ok, 3D doesn't work)

pegasos april1 here with radeon 9250.

If about morphos still shows 2.0, it means you're booting on old boot image, i'd say.

sounds pretty obvious yes, i guess the boot image can't upgrade itself, i'll check if i have the right one, thanks !

edit : you were right of course, thanks Fab !

about my lost partition, SFSdoctor could see the content of it, reported some errors, and when i asked it to repair the partition it crashed, and now my partition is dead, no more content. F**k.

I have two Problems so far.
    1. Lucy: All Filebrowser windows arn't transparent anymore. I have checked my Lucy Prefs and all is set right like under MOS2.0 but now some windows that was transparent with MOS2.0 aren't with MOS2.1

    2. Where can i finde the filetype definitions?
I would like to use my old filetypes from 2.0 with 2.1

xyphoid : to know if you are using MorphOS 2.0 or 2.1, go to the menu "Ambient" and go to the "About MorphOS..." section.

Still if you want to hear about problems with transparrent windows, just ask me about AmigaOS4.1 on a 32meg Graphics card, blah blah etc etc..

lucy wasn't working on the first boot after i upgraded. I only replaced sys:wbstartup with the same directory from my 2.0 backup, and it works.

Is there any reason why env-archive is overwritten?

I got rather pissed with this because I really didn't want to lose all my screenmode settings, toolbar, mui setup etc. So I erased the '2.1' env-archive and restored.. so far it seems to work, but I'd rather spend some time to do this properly now than having problems later, if indeed there's a reason for nuking a 2.0 env-archive.

env-archive is saved to env.lha in sys:prefs if you use Iwizard to update, AFAIK.

there is something strange about lucy (2.29). It works here for application windows (i mean opacity) but not for ambient windows (in icon or lister mode).

by the way, no more ambient nighty builds ?

Yep same here with Lucy 2.29 and i can't save only one option in Lucy Prefs(Override windows initial opacity) all other options are saved. This one only stays saved till next reboot.

Yes, I did notice envarc is saved (though I copied my full system partition before updating). But the question was.. is there any reason why it's overwritten? Eg, is there some prefs format that has changed, which is not backwards compatible? Or is it safe to just copy your old envarc back again?

Also, I noticed that in mos2.0, sys:morphos/classes/mui had a lot of classes, which are no longer there in 2.1. Is there some reason for this?

    Merko,

you can recopy your old settings. About mui classes, only nlist ones were removed, due to its unmaintainable status and some applications always requiring the very latest one (for no reason). You can use "up-to-date" ones or the ones from 2.0.

    SoundSquare,

About ambient, there will be nightlies very soon after SDK is available.

    Patience please...

I'm doing this on my spare time (and I don't have a lot of that these days) .. I just spent the weekend and yesterday cleaning up the includes, and after those are approved by everyone there's still a lot to do (we're aiming for a much better (and easier to install) SDK package this time), though I might put up the includes as a drop-in package for the existing SDK ASAP as a stop-gap (that way you can atleast start playing with all the new features).

New? I think these lovely DRM things are reserved for OS releases... :-) ELFs are still what regular developers get.

I just came back from holiday, MorphOS releases always happen when I am away.

So now I updated to MorphOS 2.1 but everything is running very s...l...o...w. I updated by booting with the 2.0 CD then changed the source path to the 2.1 ISO file. I hope this was OK or did some important files get missed ?

The speed of 2.0 was very good. Please don't make me reinstall! By the way, I checked the boot screen and about and they both say MorphOS 2.1. My boot parameters are "ide0:0 boot.img bootdevice=dh4 3d rd rds 0"
