It is a Q2 mod. If the sources for the Amiga port of Q2 are available it shouldn't be a problem to compile it. IIRC Q2 requires native binaries for mods unlike Q1 and Q3.

it is not a quake 2 mod......it happens to use parts of the engine but it is a competley diferent thing.....most of the quake 2 engine was rewriten for the game.

"The game engine is based on a heavily modified version of ID's Quake2 Engine. This doesn't imply that 'UFO: Alien Invasion' is a mod or a total conversion at all! No, 'UFO: AI' is a stand-alone game which doesn't require Quake2 or any similar program to run. Our self-developed game engine is featuring up-to-date OpenGL graphics and special effects, increased texture resolution, hardware accelerated clipping of map layers to toggle between floors, a new animation system for player models, a stunning AI and a few other gimmicks."

Ok, cool. I didn't read that much on the site. I tried compiling this in Linux as they didn't distribute a LinuxPPC binary (bah). It failed though, complained about missing files etc.

I checked both the official Q2 sources and the Icculus port but none had the missing files.

Actually I'm working on new UFO-like game for MorphOS :-)

Well, most likely it'll become more like Laser Squad, but with isometric 3D graphics...

here is a very old screenshot of it.

Back then it was made in AMOS, but since then, I've been converting it to C code...

(actually, I still have "final" AMOS beta version online here, but I disabled RTG support, so it doesn't work on Pegasos, but should work on classic amigas and UAE)

And yes, it's far from finished, I know... But I'll keep you informed when I make more progress... But feel free to ask any questions about the project...

(actually I could do some screenshots, if I only had better graphics...)

No, it's not my game. But my game is likely to become "quite a bit similar" but it's "original" game, not a port... Development started on Military Grade Commodore Amiga 2000 HD Professional :-) But as that became too slow for my project (progressing from having to be slowed down to 2 seconds per frame) I moved development to my A1200. Later I changed language to C, and eventually moved development to my Pegasos. Currently I'm doing only MorphOS port, but the sources would likely compile for amiga aswell, but I don't see any point, as the game is far too unfinished for now...

About screenshots... Well, I decided I wouldn't publish any from the C version before I get better graphics... Then again, gfx sure aren't "top priority" for now, far from it...
