    Hi,

I do not like porting games that much but I have to admit that poundsmack is right. Such a game running on MorphOS (that's NO Linux) certainly is a eyecatcher. My dad had one of the Wolfenstein titles on his computer and it even made me addicted.

Are there any things you have to do to get the code? Register or something?

Pay... if you want a port that is, go read the news item again.

i think a port of a older but very popular 3D shooter is
better. something with longtime motivation and a comunity.
if you port one of the many available 3D shooter ... you
will play it for some time, but i think it will not have
longtime motivation and this will take more time to port
than to play. how i allready said, iam not a 3D shooter
freak, but i think somethink like Counterstrike will be
better or any other game with a great userbase that will
not die in the next month.

well with this port it would also require porting ther quake 3 engine so we could also have quake 3 for morphos and that has a huge! user base me being a part of it...

I don't think the real Quake III engine is included in those files. It's very expensive to buy and ID software are very picky about who can get one according to the information on their homepage. This is what it says about price:

"For a single title license, we charge a $250,000 guarantee against a 5% royalty of the wholesale price for the title."
OnyxSoft - Amigans never surrender, they know they can do it better...
