Ever since MOS1.4 was released there has been fevered demand for MOS1.5. But is everyone just demanding updates for the sake of it, or are they actually demanding specific feaures?

Radeon 3d support and a few dozen Ambient improvements.. enough, or shall I continue? ;-)

    Expectations ? I've none for MOS 1.5 ... I can wait for
it to reach the point where the "crew" decides it's worthy.

    Check http://zapek.com/software/ambient/ and tell me
if this is the ambient which is running on your board ?

There is a nice line used quite often "When it's done !"
So why is there no AmiTCP which was said to be ready ?
There is a driver for Gigabit-Ethernet written for linux.
    Written by a MOS-Developer ... still it's not here ...

I understand that there is not enough money made by MorphOS.
But I'm ready to pay ! Still I cant buy things that were
    shown early this year !

1.4.2 is great software. I dont care for the featurelist
    and other promises.

For the money I've paid a long time ago I got a board and
software, later a replacement and then for some more an upgrade.
I even bought a second Peg so I can take one with me ...
I have no expectations over what I've got for my money.

I really love this machine ... it's a real feeling.
So it's hurting me right to the heart when I see it not
living to it's best ... like bbrv said MorphOS, it's a concept.
To morph can mean to change shape. But somehow we're stuck
and have to explain new users that they cant edit a file
because there is no editor included. We have to tell them
to go online to get a TCP/IP-Stack ... without a way to
    do so ...

You know that discussions with heart can easily run in the
wrong direction ... so it's quite "normal" to read the current
    threads as they are.
(Or as a picture: Never try to stop the bull when he's in heat ;-) )

I can wait for MOS 1.5 myself, but I would like to see at least a few small updates come before if thats the case.

    1. NATIVE TCP/IP stack
    2. Gigabit Ethernet drivers
    3. SOMETHING to improve Ambient
    4. Printing fixed or a simple install script for the latest 68k Turbo print so we have something a bit better then now.

Thants all I ask for, its not much.

Just a few comments about that:

    - Linux and MorphOs NIC driver use a totaly different logic: You don't port a driver from one to the other, you write it from scratch
    - The MorphOs driver can't use GPL code if the author want to keep the sources close.

Note: Don't even ask more about this
    MorphOS Rulez !

    Good points.

    At all:

    1. There will be TCP/IP in 1.5 for sure

    2. Turboprint work is not done by MOS team - its done by Irsee Soft - I dont expect an update for this unfortunately

    3. There will be some nice improvements in Ambient itself as well as some surprises AFAIk.

    4. The mos team is very quiet about 1.5 but they are very actively working on it.

If thats the case then I say a rework of the printing system is in order. People cant use MorphOS as a total solution of they cant print out the docs. Its bad that even in the Freescale docs it states MOS cant print.

Who are you for say that about MorphOS?

You aren't part of MorphOS development at all...

    You aren't bbrv or like..

So why you say that? That you say isn't real information...

So not talk about you really not know ;-)

Well i say he is just as close to BBRV as I am and does know how things are going. You need to relax and just be patient. Things are going well and are better then you may think.

Timofinic as I mentioned before and also as other have. It seems you dont like anything to do with the pegasos these days. If you dont like it you can leave. Nothing is forcing you to support our system.

Please not say stupid things, I like Pegasos and MorphOS. I dont like that MorphOS de abandonated because Genesi wins money with linux...

Why close? Close because that? He not worked on MorphOS team, hw only is a worker, if he knows some of these things, he must shut up things that he can't say because of NDA (if he signed one and depends of that NDA)...

You know you are not on the MOS team as well. Tell me how you are so sure its been abandoned? I for one do not think it has. If it was we would have been told by now.

It's better think in pesimist way than optimist.

I said my opinion, it seems bad times for MorphOS...

    Okay, let's time out here.

This thread is becoming a home for users complaining about the lack of news on MOS-development. The point is valid, taken and now hopefully done, ok?

Bottomline: MOS-development is still going on (hurray), atm no news (awww) and complaining won't help a bit, other than irritate the developers. The point has been made; let's us now cool down, and do something more productive.

/me is getting himself a beer.

What do you know: time for another beer :-P
