I'm confused.
Do you mean Amiga Inc.'s patents or RIM's?
I meant Amiga related patents. The entire patent system was designed to protect a product for a finite numbers a years to recover and potentially profit on the designs patented. There is no way the original ones are valid for much longer, and any hardware ones are worthless at this point.
Heck I work for Intel now and make stuff so far ahead of the processes used back then its like the stone age.
20 years is the age, several are getting close to that or are way past it. Here are a few that were great ones.

Cursor controller user interface system 1986: Ah one of the great ones that had everyone scared: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.htm&r=16&p=1&f=G&l=50&d=PTXT&S1=amiga.ASNM.&OS=an/amiga&RS=AN/amiga
Hand operated control unit for video games: You know what this is im sure, in 1986 it was a big deal! : http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.htm&r=17&p=1&f=G&l=50&d=PTXT&S1=amiga.ASNM.&OS=an/amiga&RS=AN/amiga
And this one too: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.htm&r=18&p=1&f=G&l=50&d=PTXT&S1=amiga.ASNM.&OS=an/amiga&RS=AN/amiga
