Success!

Even though the installer had an error message and did not seem to finish properly, when I rebooted I was greeted with a whole new MorphOS2.5 machine. I still have more testing to do, but it looks like most, if not all of the new applications might be installed and working.

Tried the latest pack three times now.

I get an error that says the download is not complete and that the installation must be restarted, maybe a connection error.

The files it downloaded are as follows
emulators.lha
emulatorsplexi.lha
english.lha
games.lha
gamesplexi.lha
plexi.ha
uiltimate.lha

you can compare size of files downloaded with size write in the installer script (in octets).

I've tried different combinations without success.
If I choose no for the game and emulator packs, the message says the pack has been successfully installed.
After a reboot it's clear absolutely nothing has been installed or changed.

Did you have test the last version of installer ?

I've just trying last install script with your prefs (ultimate only, english language and plexi pack icons) and all is ok here.

I downloaded it from the link on the 1st page and then tried it.
I assume that was the latest one?

the link remains the same, it depends when you had to download

the latest version dated of Friday 3 September at 22h08.

I downloaded directly from the site instead of following the link last night.

This was more successful, I'm pretty sure that's what I had to do last time I had a problem.

I'm wondering if there is some delay between you announcing a new version and the new version being uploaded?

Anyway, the install got a lot further this time but the error message still appeared.
On reboot though, the install appears to have worked.
It was late last night when I got to this stage so haven't had chance to have a thorough look.

What I did notice though is that the issues/suggestions from my last report haven't been actioned.

I'll do more testing tonight.

Seems to me, apart from the fact half my morphos is in french :) that toe original way of just copying all the files over your installation worked best

I tried to install fresh MorphOS 2.5 and then Ultimate Pack over it. My plan is to show that setup on meeting next saturday.

I selected to install ultimate pack on sys:, games and emulators on work:, ice iconset and download path to ram:

Download went fine and filesizes seem to be correct, but on install (unpack) stage it stopped after couple of archives and complained download isn't complete and aborted. Maybe it was because I selected different destination for games and emulators? After a reboot apps seem to be installed, but not the games and emulators.. I unpacked them manually. But if they'd worked with installer, would they show up in PolyNet bar automatically?

Some filetypes are in french even with english.lha... and example images of iconpacks would be nice on the installer.

No sorry, there are not automaticaly entries in PolyNet bar when Games and emulators pack are installed.

I will test this evening your installation prefs.

About examples images of iconpacks, i would like to do it too but i don't know to do that (if somebody knows, i take)

What fixes are included in the new installer script? Is the English Locale fixed where all menus are now in English and not part English and other menus in French?

for the moment i have just corrected script about extractions of pack Games and Emulators didn't start.

Corrections in translation of contextuals menus will be available in futur version of the pack Ultimate.

The download is no longer possible. Will there soon be a new version for MorphOS 2.6? I had mayor difficulties in upgrading my system to 2.6, and it seems that the old pack ultimate was not innocent causing that troubles...

I would like to show the new pack Ultimate at the AmiWest 2010 Show in one week. Do you think you will have a new version ready before that date? I want to install it on one of the MorphOS2.6 computers that I will be showing at AmiWest.

I have removed old pack Ultimate since MorphOS 2.6 is out because i have not tested.

I will try to do a beta version for Thursday.

This is the procedure for beta test the pack Ultimate 1.6.2 for MorphOS 2.6, sorry installer script is not finished :

1 - Install MorphOS 2.6
2 - Install TrueType Fonts (sys:Applications/OWB/)
3 - Download and Extract in sys:
ultimate.lha
english.lha or french.lha
deficons.lha (optional)
ice.lha or plexi.lha (icons)

4 - Download and Extract in partition you want :

games.lha
gamesice.lha or gamesplexi.lha (icons)

emulators.lha
english.lha or emulatorsplexi.lha (icons)

5 - Reboot and take the fun with MorphOS

Patbest has realised wallpapaers and all icons of this pack:

Cool.
Worked mostly nice for me. Some menus are in French (like in 1.6.1).
Old music format didn't play directly from exciter to uade when I double clicked their icon.. MOS freezes when I try to mount samba drives now, but I think that is another issue not related to package ultimate
But all in all, it worked good. I didn't have much time to play with it though.

Anyway. A really nice package for me that is is new to MorphOS.

is it possible to install the pack (or archives) without having the default icons changed ? (for drives, ram disk etc)
