So you normally only get paid when your employer is happy with something that has been signed sealed and delivered - not when it is payday?

TreeBeard, neither David or Stefan are employees. We license their developments. Can you see the difference?

I fear that announcement on www.morphos.net will not disappear until BBRV pay David, Stuntz and the others.
Only BBRV can stop the bad publicity MorphOS and Genesi is getting all around the web. It's everything in their hands.

I don´t understand the difference between being employed and "licensing development".

Both means getting paid for work, doesn´t it?

Nothing is owed if in fact they are licensed coders. In that term they get paid for coded delivered, not for code to be writen. Just like game companies that do it for say the quake II engine. They pay and they get the code. Its as simple as that.

Now in that same subject if its factual that 1.4.1 is paid in full and nothing has been paid for the next release they have all the right to refuse to release it without payment first. I suspect there is much more to the story we dont know. That could be good or bad depending on who is telling the complete truth.

No, people want and like the concept of Ambient and David Gerber ideas seems interesting, I want Ambient being developed for MorphOS. About MUI, remember that MorphOS is an amiga-like OS, it is not completely original because based on another OS but has own things, but MUI is one of the things that a lot of people like and prefer over other solutions as reaction, same with AHI and... If you offer to those users a different GUI,without compatibility with MUI or not being improved, it will not be that most of their users wanted when buyed a Pegasos for MorphOS: A evolution of AmigaOS, with compatibility of a lot of amiga apps and using the concepts of most of amiga things but doing better for today. I see MorphOS as an AmigaOS updated for today and the future...

    I completely agree with Micky!
We, users, are paying for our beloved Pegasos,
thinking to have a license fee included in
the price of the machine for using MOS.
Now, please mr. BBRV, to stop this very bad
    situation simpy pay developers!!+
    & remember:
    NO MOS -> NO PEG!!!

Something here does not sound right.....

If Genesi has been showing off the features
of MorphOS 1.5 at SNDF EUrope then obviously
they have some newer (beta?) version of
    1.5 code in their hands.

    http://www.ppcnux.de/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=4208

Maybe this is what has not so far been
paid for? Hence the developers outcry at not
    being paid?

    Regards

Judging by the article, the BETA as some might call it really didn't offer anything extra. A plug in or two, altivec. They haven't caught up to where 1.4 features are supposed to be yet, as advertised on the web sight. 1.5 was supposed to be even more advanced.

Its time everybody shows there cards, makes there play and gets on with the show (release 1.5) . :-D
