After installing installer ( so i can install classic apps.) and getting WipeOut 2097 on my HD, I rebooted the machine, then tried to open OWB, where I was greeted w/ a startup message telling me I need bsdsocket.library. Whats wrong w/ MOS?
    My Macs:
    Powerbook G4 ALU 1.5GHZ 15" 1.5GB OSX.5.8
    Powermac G4 MDD 1.5GHZ OSX.5.8 MOS2.7

Want a part for a Mac? Let me know, I'll see what I can do.

Amithlon is amazing, questions and help I can provide.

The Wipeout installer must have clobbered some network settings/initialization.

Since you're still running 2.5, install MorphOS 2.6 to get your system directory back to its correct state.

Hmmm, I installed Wipeout a few months back - it may (from memory) have added an assign to the user-startup for amitcp: - I'll have a check later and get back to you.

    Regards

Memory must be faulty - no sign of an assign (I would normally just have commented it out), and nothing in the WO2097 installation log to suggest changes to user-startup as part of installation.

It would be good to know the solution when you do figure it out.

If you experience problems with the Installer supplied with MorphOS (look in MOSSYS:C) you should probably report them.

What's wrong? Who knows, but go to prefs > network, check the settings are ok and click save, see if that helps.

I nuked my install, have decided to start over from scratch. I will reinstall everything, and such and get back w/ solution.

    @golem
Lemme guess, MOS doesn't install it by default?

The installer gets installed by default, but as its under development is may (and included V1.34 is) not up to date.

Some install icons search the installer at strange locations and absolute paths, that may be the reason its unable to find the installer by default. You can work around by launchig the installer from utilities drawer first and select the script from there.

This is very handy when the original script and the false icon/tooltype is located on a non writable CD.

Just grab the latest installer from http://www.geit.de,
