I've read on an early Morphos/Pegasos review at OSnews that Genesi has/had in their plans to release a card bearing an AGA compatible chip. Is that a solid truth? Now think of this: How about a pci card that's bearing a custom chip that includes all the functions of the A1200 custom chips (AGA,Paula etc) + a universal floppy drive controller (like the one of Catweasel).... this would make the ultimate Amiga computer!!!!! ...I know, I'm dreaming.....

    Hi,

Such card was planned for the A1 at the beginning. Or a link with your Amiga1200 I think. Such card would be really great if it came for the Pegasos. But I think not. But I hope. :-)

I must say, I have a hard time understanding why it hasn't been done!?
I don't want to use a stinking emulator to run old games and such, whenever i buy a Peggy.

By the way, can someone please try to tell me why i can't be done with a software "module" in MOS? Working together with Trance...

I think a such card will never be done.
And I can't really see any interrested in...

I can't be done beause MorphOS is not an emulator, its goal is not to
    emulate the Amiga hardware.
    MorphOS Rulez !

Would be of no use for old games,as these never worked under any OS.

Writing a "module" could be possible, but would require hacking with the
MMU,something the MOS-core-team is not so fond of (for good reasons).

MorphOS aims into the future, not into the past, and compabilty should only be
provided to such extend allowed without compromising the basic OS-design.

Sofar that has proven enough to allow enough old SW to run, for making MOS
a fully useable system. Everything else can (and should)be done with UAE.

Agreed, but UAE for MorphOS needs some work. Better yet, a lot of work.
